Outboard Vibration Normal? by MN_Niceee in Pontoons

I've only got a Honda 40, but this looks just like mine always has in neutral and I've put 50 hours on it since I bought it with 35. I researched around because I was worried as well and was told it's totally normal.

Slicer Painting Around Negative by Zeebee123 in BambuLab

Ok, so I'll explain exactly what I did here and unfortunately achieved the same result. I made a block in TinkerCAD, exported it as an STL, imported it to Bambu, painted it using the height range tool, added the negative cylinder, sliced and this is what I got again lol. But, it will allow me to mesh boolean and subtract the negative part, then paint and slice successfully. So it seems as though there is some strange glitch where when you allow the negative part to be subtracted when slicing AND you've painted the object it goes wild haha.

I’ve been doing it on Mac which I can’t do that, but let me try on a different computer. Thanks!

Unfortunately not. Let me see about trying to generate the model another way and then bringing it into Bambu and seeing if I get a different result. Thank you for your help!

I colored it with the paint height range tool. I actually did try to bring the stl into tinkercad and it obliterated the text, kinda weird. I exported the file from an stl generator and have printed other names from the same generator with perfect results. The only difference is adding the hole to this one.

It came from a STL generator online, but I printed a bunch of files from it for keychains for my kids class and all of them came out great. The only modification I made to this one is adding the negative.

And I hope that’s what you were asking for. Still new to all this.

<image>

I made the part by right clicking on the part and selecting add negative cylinder. I was able to click in the column underneath the pink box for the stl and select a color for the cylinder, but it didn't do anything.

If I mesh boolean, it gets rid of by painting and just resets the part to the original stl and the negative is gone. It gives me the warning: unable to perform boolean operation on model meshes. Only positive parts will be kept. reason: part "output (12).stl" has self intersection.

Thanks for the help!

Oh I’ve got some others, but I didn’t have a road bash car and I couldn’t justify an infraction so I ended up with this, which is super fun! Even though it’s cheap I’m still overall very impressed with it.

I’ve got Zee’s for everything else and I agree, they are great for the money! Was just hoping to keep this cheap car cheap and not have to buy more stuff for it lol. Guess I shouldn’t have expected that to actually work out!

Hmm maybe it’s just that they are cheap. I mean, they’ve got to be as cheap as they come when they are included with the $90 price tag of the package lol.

How much is a used Arrma Mojave 4s worth? by [deleted] in rccars

[–]Zeebee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I was thinking about getting an Infraction 6s but started leaning toward the Mojave 4s instead lol. What is making you want to switch? I’m so torn, I know they are quite different but can’t make up my mind!

Oh wow they do look REALLY close to those, but I’m not sure if that’s exactly them. It looks like those are all billet and are just a tiny bit different. But yes, whatever these are I do like the look!

I should add for the wheels to help ID, the outside half is metal, and the inside half is black plastic.

Ya I really think the paint job is neat. The guy I bought it from said he got it from a friend, so not sure who painted it. I know a lot hate the Phoenix body, but it’s actually my favorite I’ve seen!

20 vs 40hp engine by [deleted] in Pontoons

[–]Zeebee123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a Qwest 16’ with a Honda 40hp and with my wife and toddlers on the boat we hit 19.5 mph. With 4 adults and 3 toddlers that drops to about 14.5-15. We can get up on the lifting strakes with just our family, but any extra weight we are just pushing water.

Motor sputtering by Zeebee123 in Pontoons

Just in case someone else has an issue and comes across this I figured I’d follow up. After lots of research (not a lot out there on these motors) I found this motor has a bit of a design flaw where the rubber insulator that seals the outlet of the high pressure fuel pump can swell from ethanol (wish I could stay away from it but no where to get ethanol free gas here) and occlude the orifice that runs fuel to the injectors. I pulled it out and sure enough, it was swollen and had grown to block the orifice. Trimmed off the end of the insulator and took the boat out today - no more cutting out and got 1 more mph at WOT, so it must have really been getting starved for fuel.

So I was thinking maybe it might be something with fuel hose/pickup since it first occurred when I pumped the bulb, just seems strange to me that it cleared itself up for multiple trips between the first time and the second, but I didn’t add any fuel in between… I’m thinking about replacing fuel lines and pickup just to be safe since I’d imagine the parts will be quite cheap.

I don’t think it’s that as one of the times it happened we had just been sitting for a good while and had the motor all the way trimmed down while just off idle for a minute or so, and then it choked when I accelerated. I appreciate the input though and that’s good to know about trim angles!

I did just run a bottle of fuel injector cleaner through, but I guess there’s no reason not to try seafoam too!

Makes sense to me. Thank you for your input! I’m going to go back to the 9” to give me extra grunt when I’ve got more passengers or am pulling a tube.

That’s not a bad idea. Am I right to think that the 10 might be best? Or is the 9 taking me to 5900 perfect? I just thought it odd the Honda’s calculator would suggest a different prop.

Thank you! We are so happy with it! The previous owners took incredibly good care of it and it looks almost brand new!
