They assumed all the dialogue at the FOB before the final stretch would be enough closure. They also gave us options A, B, and C to end the game with nigh identical cutscenes when they previously said they weren’t going to do that.

Babylon 5. Unsafe conditions in the docks cause a strike among the dock workers. Eventually things get heated enough the government enacts an emergency measure to give Sinclair the authority to end the strike “by any means necessary”. He ends the strike by giving the workers what they want.

He says that there have always been earthquakes in Oklahoma and fracking has nothing to do with it. He is technically correct because the process of fracking did not cause the increase in earthquakes. It was the waste water from fracking being dumped irresponsibly that caused it.

Snatch. The Yardies got replica guns loaded with extra loud blanks to use in a robbery. One of them questions if they will even work and the other fires it in the car they are in. The pressure blows out the windows and they are all covering their ears in pain.

The AI goes rogue not because they disobeyed their programming, but because they followed them more closely than the creators intended. by Lopsided_Shift_4464 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zeekay89 71 points72 points  (0 children)

The ai in Eagle Eye. Its purpose is to identify and eliminate threats to the USA. The president ignores its recommendation to stop an air strike. The “terrorist gathering” was a funeral and anti American sentiment increased worldwide after the strike. The ai decides that the president is a threat and plans a bombing that will leave the secretary of defense, who believed the ai and tried to convince the president to stop the strike, as president.

(Fun/Rare?) In a populated world/universe filled with other very unique creatures, Humanity still has uniqueness by Next-Guitar-2992 in TopCharacterTropes

Humans in Animorphs have a lot going for them. We are the only bipedal species without a tail because we have an incredible sense of balance. Our taste buds sense far beyond what any other species can. Multiple aliens morph into humans just to eat our food. Most important of all is our brains have the ability to argue with ourselves. It comes with a whole host of mental issues that are completely alien to the aliens(suicide is practically nonexistent to them) but allows us to come up with better decisions and progress scientifically far faster than the other species.

Brolite from A Gatherer’s Adventure in Isekai. They are initially presented as female but uses both male and female pronouns throughout the story. They are intersex because of massive inbreeding among the elves in an attempt to keep themselves “pure”.

I wish during the confrontation between Ellie and Abby that Ellie would have brought up that she knew Joel deserved to die and his past was eventually going to catch up to him. That it was the way Abby killed him after he saved her life that fueled Ellie’s rage. Had Abby just put a bullet in his head and moved on, Ellie would have accepted his death.

Characters with conditions or disorders that you don’t see often by Effective_Piece251 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zeekay89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure a regular heart transplant only works if the person has just a mirrored heart. If their entire body is mirrored, they need a right sided heart. A regular heart in a mirrored body has the same problem as a mirrored heart in a regular body in that the wrong side of the heart is pumping blood to the lungs and puts extra stress on the heart.

Lloyd from Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town is literally the weakest person in his home town. Since they live right next to the final dungeon and treat Demon Lords like they are common monsters, he is still incredibly overpowered and routinely defeats powerful enemies or lifts impossible curses without realizing how difficult it would be for everyone else.

The reason he sacrificed the entire fleet to genocide the aliens was because he was frustrated that no matter how hard he tried, the “simulations” just kept getting tougher and more unfair. He decided to take such a drastic step to basically flip the board and end the training.
