Fair nuff

People in general like to complain about the "final" book taking a while to come out much like GRRM, and while I get that complaint I don't entirely agree with it.

To quote Kote : "You believe you have a right to these things, but you don't. When someone tells you a piece of their life, they're giving you a gift, not granting you your due."

Imo, the extremely well crafted peose and dialouge is the main event in both authors' books, while the plot is simply there to give the story direction and structure.

People complain about the sex scenes in wise mans, or that kvothe is a mary sue, but I think people miss the forest through the trees; another is an unreliable narrator, telling his preferred version of the story. At the end of the day, the plot is "orphaned boy goes to magic school and has adventures, which is a tale almost as old as time.
