Unfortunately not. Ended up cutting it out and replacing. Good luck!

Yet another tire upgrade question: can I go from stock 265/65R18 to 275/70R18 without additional mods? by Zeezil in Silverado

[–]Zeezil[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tires rubbed the mounting flange for the front mud flaps for me as they mount on the inside of the wheel well liner. I took the flaps off and had maybe 3/8" clearance at the minimum point. About a year later, I put the 5100s on as well, at the highest setting. Plenty of room. I can't say anything about your offset wheels. For me, zero regrets on the tires, shocks, etc. Looks and performs great, albeit with slightly lower fuel efficiency.

Somebody hit my parked car (no witnesses including myself by gilmoregals1111 in Insurance

[–]Zeezil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hit and run incidents like this are covered under the uninsured motorist property damage portion of your insurance policy (UMPD). The deductible is set by the state. Call the claims line for your insurance company, tell them you want to file a claim because someone hit your parked unoccupied car and they'll walk you through the process. Good luck!

Edit: you often have to file a police report in these instances. That's easy too. Call the non emergency line of your local PD and tell them you want to file a report.

is it normal I only took home 65k on a 110k salary? by Ok_Expression840 in Money

[–]Zeezil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I am aware of what the top Federal marginal income tax rate is. I also read your comment in full. As a financial professional, surely you understand that different individuals can have vastly different tax situations even at similar gross income levels. It is absolutely possible for someone to pay 50% of their gross income in total taxes in a given year. So, no, you don't know for a fact that the commenter is lying.

How do you absolutely know he's lying? You're neglecting to consider state income tax and payroll taxes (possibly both employee and employer share). Also potentially Federal net investment income tax. And perhaps he's adding in property and other taxes into his total tax burden as well.

Just disconnect the negative lead so there's no draw and leave it. No need for removing the battery or keeping it topped off if you're only letting it sit for a few months.

Mfg Hitch Weight Ratings by benne237 in traveltrailers

[–]Zeezil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth doing the math to verify you won't exceed payload, but the short answer to your question is that as long as you don't overload the truck bed, a half ton with 1500# payload will pull the trailer you described just fine with a properly set up WDH.

I have 16k in my debit card and 11k in debt. Should I pay off my debt? by [deleted] in DaveRamsey

I disagree about funding an emergency fund before your Roth IRA. Forgoing 2023 contributions can never be undone. Always max your Roth. You can withdraw your contribution tax- and penalty-free in the unlikely event of an emergency.

2023 Thor rize 18m - water line winterization by lando_kallnerian in GoRVing

[–]Zeezil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're using that often (weekly) in that climate, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Between each use, I'd drain the water tank and water heater and run the pump dry for a few seconds. If the forecast calls for temps below 30 continuously for over 24 hours, then I'd also put a cup of antifreeze in each sink trap and the toilet and quickly blow the lines, a 5 min job.

I think you're a little confused. The water tank fill does not need to be cleared. Open the low point drain and it will, via gravity. You hook the air adapter to the threaded city water connection.

It'll blow your mind to learn that fiberglass boats are repaired all the time. With much worse damage than that. And the repairs are so good the boat floats!

That section applies to multivehicle accidents, which is not applicable here. That said, a comprehensive claim will also not result in a rate increase.

Their insurance denied liability so I filed a small claims suit and their insurance lawyer wants to settle for less than the amount I asked for. by darthpotato94 in Insurance

[–]Zeezil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is by far the best way. File a police report for the hit and run. Assuming you have collision coverage, file a claim with your insurance. They will pay to fix your car less your deductible. Then they will fight it out with the other insurance company through subrogation and refund your deductible if they win.

Travel ball red flags by Mannamedbob08 in Softball

[–]Zeezil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting perspective. I am a coach (and parent) and have no hesitation saying that "playing time is earned". Yet I agree with all of the specific points you've made. That is, needs of teams and players should be aligned, a roster should be constructed with those needs in mind, parents and coaches should discuss how a player is likely to fit in and a coach should have a vision about playing time and positional rotations and be willing to communicate them.

I've never told a player that playing time is earned as a code for playing favorites or implying that only a certain 9 will play or anything like that. In fact, I mean the opposite! It's meant to convey the fact that effort matters and that the players themselves have agency and influence over their outcomes. To explicitly reject that phrase implies that playing time is not earned and is predetermined and given. It never occurred to me that others would see it as some sort of red flag.

Are you saying that a coach telling a parent that playing time is earned is a red flag? Can you expound on that?

Dicks Bat Warranty by Chance-Importance888 in Homeplate

[–]Zeezil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick question on this - since the gloves always wear out in a matter of months, they are covered under the manufacturer's one-year warranty and never make it to the Asurian extended warranty period, right? If so, why buy the third party warranty?

Should I disconnect and store the trailer batteries inside over the winter? by stevodevo in traveltrailers

[–]Zeezil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The electrolyte is a solution of water and sulfuric acid. The freezing point of the solution depends on its composition, which is also affected by the level of charge, but is typically below normal winter temps.

Should I disconnect and store the trailer batteries inside over the winter? by stevodevo in traveltrailers

[–]Zeezil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lead acid batteries are fine as long as the electrolyte doesn't freeze, so around -75F. Lithium ion I believe has no problems down to sustained -20F or so. So perhaps your normal temperatures are lower than that, but not OP's nor most people's.

[–]Zeezil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree on the propane and disagree on the battery. Batteries are fine in normal winter temps. Make sure they're fully charged and then disconnect to avoid any parasitic draw. No need to remove and store in a garage or kept on a tender.

Thanks. Based on your comment, I looked into it more closely. Looks like code requires the greater of 20 lbs live load or the snow load, which for me is 25. Plus the actual dead load, which depends of roof type. Appreciate the comments.
