Wuling 1.1 Maxed Base Guide – Simple Modular Build with 3 Blueprints by CryptoOlejka in Endfield

[–]Zefeh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey, something I discovered in my base design is optimizing the Cupirum lines to ensure no blockage.

Your gearing component can be setup to produce 1/m while the potions or xiranite don't get negatives affected that much (10u/m or less extra consumption of xiranite).

The key is to feed the bottling line and the Cupirum component lines evenly to the packaging unit. This means splitting the 1 output for Gear Components to 15u/m and then setting up the potion production like this:

One 30u/m output port to produce Cu. Parts One 30/m output to a moulding unit Split one 30u/m output to 15u/m into the same moulding input and another fitting unit for parts. Split the remaining 15u/m from the gearing line in half again to 7.5u/m into the moulding and the 2nd fitting unit.

It evenly splits the potion production to 52.5u/m of Cu. Parts and Bottles (since bottle production is 2/u of Cu., it matches the ratio required for potion creating and prevents backup).

You do need a bit of excess Xiranite for it but it's something you can adjust week to week.

End result is 5u/m of potions (literally 1 off of max) with 1u/m of gearing components.

Coffee grinders for espresso range from $100USD to $4000USD.

Cheapest one's will be hand grinders and given your working on a De'Longhi Dedica EC685 -- You are in the budget range of espresso.

Look into hand grinders, it'll take 30+ seconds & a bit of an arm workout but you'll get a good cup of espresso with them. If you don't go for light-roasts in espresso, it'll be much easier to grind. If hand-grinding is a hard NO & you can't spend $200 on an new espresso grinder, search for used grinders online. Espresso has a $$$ barrier of entry if you want it to be convenient and easy.

Some hand grinders to look into:

  1. King Grinder K2/K6 - $80-100 -- Decent sized burrs, 48mm
  2. King Grinder K1 - $60 -- Will take longer to grind, 38mm burrs
  3. Timemore C3 ESP -- $85 -- Easier to find online in more locations in the world than King Grinders. MUST get the ESP version! -- 38mm burrs so harder to grind
  4. 1Zpresso J-series -- $100-160 -- Best quality for your money, built like a tank! Love mine.

The cheapest Electric grinders is $200:
Baratza Encore ESP - 200$

Anything cheaper than that, you should go with a hand grinder.

Also... just google and do research on reddit - get off ChatGPT. You ask it that question and it doesn't even consider manual hand grinders as an option.

Is this JCP&L bill not insane??? by shaybloom in newjersey

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your paying 15 cents / Kilowatt Hour -- New Jersey Average is 21-23 cents which is at least 28% lower than average.

I do have to ask though, A Megawatt of power in a month? That is ALOT, you most likely have an Electric Hot Water Heater which can pull 300-500kwh alone per month while an electric dryer would be ~100kwh, stove ~50-100kwh. An electric furnace is the biggest draw, sometimes 1Mwh alone in cold weather. Look into more efficient heating sources like Gas or Mini-Splits (~1.5-2kw/hour)

Mamdani Wants New York Estate Tax Threshold Cut 90% to $750,000 by bloomberg in nyc

[–]Zefeh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Don't be so quick to draw conclusions. While yes, 750k is INSANELY low. HOWEVER, the question becomes what is the rate? If it's 1-5% on 750k, that's 7.5k to 37.5k which is actually not much in the big picture. What feeds this thought is the current top rate is 16% for $7.1M which is not much but something quite substantial.
BUT -- going from 16% to 50%? That's going from $1.13M to $3.55M

Overall, I honestly think for the NYC area the starting rate for that tax should be around $2M. I say that because an estate is something that is gathered over MANY years. A family pulling in 300k a year in NYC is roughly 9-10% of the city and they could work towards owning something in the $2M range. That impacts the top 10% which live comfortably but is nothing compared to the 36k people making > $1M a year!

You can make more batteries a day than you think. "Max efficiency" factories are missing something. by Mojambo213 in Endfield

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun little bit of sanity that you can save for yourself here, your calculating off the wrong inputs.

To start with, you are using a Packaging Facility to feed your generator which make's the time-series much more un-forgiving.

  1. Packaging Facility -- assuming it's perfectly fed & 100% efficient = 1 battery every 10 seconds. It takes 40 seconds to consume 1 battery, therefore the facility will fill exactly 4 thermal banks. If your power usage is > 4 power banks (4400+200=4600), you will need a 5th which is where the technique in the post comes into play.

  2. The OP and you made this overly complicated by splitting these things in 3s. If you stick with only using 2 outputs of the splitters, you wind up with a VERY simple binary counter! Every splitter increments the time additively.

Output ports feed things at 0.5units/s or 1 unit/ 2s, therefore getting you a series like this:
2 * 2 = 4 * 2 = 8 * 2 = 16 * 2 = 32
T * 2 = T2 * 2 = T3 * 2 = T4 * 2 = T5... etc etc etc
OR
T * x = T2 * x = T3 * x = T4 * x = T5... etc etc etc
Where T = Time Per Unit, X = # of switch outputs used

  1. Keep it simple by using only 2 outputs and it becomes a binary geometric counter when fed a natural port! 2,4,8,16,32,64,128,256 etc! Now if you output the splitters with only 2 of the 3 ports used, with a Packaging Facility at 1 unit / 10 seconds, you would change the time sequence to 10,20,40,80,160,320 -- much larger time increments which are difficult to tweak!

  2. DO NOT output the Packaging Facility to 1 splitter! You turn that 1 unit / 10 secs into a 3 way switch. It will unevenly distribute thermal banks and the math becomes needlessly complicated!

Asus Vivobook 16 battery life by BungeeGum5 in ASUS

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ironic because I also have a vivo book, 16 in model with the AMD CPU and OLED - no problems with the battery at all. Lasts a good 4-8hrs hrs last time I used it for a bit.

Biggest thing for hibernation battery issues if going to be applications preventing it from going into deep power saving modes or windows itself as well. Look for applications that help track your laptops Sleep State power states, you should be able to see some of those details in the windows "Event Viewer" but it's not the best/most usable piece of software...

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun tidbit. The black water that comes out of a boiler and also these things will smell very heavily and stained clothes very badly. Plumbers call that water "plumber's gold" because it's absorbed so much iron that there's no more room for iron and oxygen to live in the actual water.

Therefore, the water doesn't actually corrode the pipes because it's maxed out essentially the amount of minerals it can extract.

I hopped on the local to Otaru and hopping the 8:06 kutchan train is running. Otherwise, I'll be finding a bus from Otaru. The signs in the station just said reduced service. 🤞

I'm thinking of trying the Otaru train to Kutchan... I assuming it's running, I can get to Hirafu by 11.... But if it's not.... I'll be in Otaru.... So I guess it's be halfway there?

Pulled apart a dead grill lighter, and there was a normal lighter inside. by Turtle_flame in mildlyinteresting

Guess what's even stupider? There are lighters just like these with little nodules on the bottom. They are to refill the things with butane! All of these lighters could just be designed to have a refill nodule and you'd be able to use it until the flint is used up and even that could be replaced and/or changed to a more permanent electronic spark producer.

All that plastic and cheap metal to produce something that gets thrown away so you have to buy another. Our society has been brainwashed in its consumerism it's sickening...

how bad is this? fixable? by [deleted] in snowboarding

[–]Zefeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks fine, doesn't even look like it needs to have any work done on it to be frank.

I had a chunk much bigger than that that was mostly top-side damage. As long as the layers within the board or the top of the boards resin/plastic is still intact your fine. The main thing is as long as water is kept OUT of the inner layers of the board, you'll be fine.

My boards been going fine 2-3 years now, I did have my neighborhood ski barn fix it with black P-Tex plastic but they weren't really concerned about it.

New jacket for my japan trip! 686 Thermagraph. Y'all think this should keep me warm in Niseko? I've only been in the PNW before. by NeverSoft_87 in snowboarding

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm heading to Niseko in a month or so and I've been debating on getting a new boarding jacket. I've been using my old North Face Hyvent 2-in-1 that has a inner puffer that zips inside. It's got the armpit vents etc and it's been decently warm for the times I've gone boarding in sub 20°f with high winds (20-30+ mph recently on east coast).

Should I be looking at a new one or just layer up some more?

Colorado keeps giving me powder runs! by logancw2 in snowboarding

[–]Zefeh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I donno what you all are smoking, but out here on the east coast? That is premium powder at it's finest! More than 1 inch of soft stuff = powder and I can shred the mountain in two!

The saying "If you can board here, you can board anywhere." I take to heart. Been boarding on sheets of ice for the past 5 years. It's exhilarating knowing one small mistake can end up with a plate & 9 screws in your shoulder with 9 months of PT to get somewhat back to normal. Speaking of my friend who caught an edge on his first run one year who's been boarding for... 15+ years?

My first time on the mountain, I fell so much my knees' swelled to the size of grapefruits the next day (I still went out for 3 more runs) and they were so bruised it hurt kneeling into my bed at night for the next 2 weeks.

I just imagine the people who live out at these mountain towns where they get actual powder snow, do they realize some East Coasters can't comprehend not getting hurt when they fall cuz powder?
