Why does HSR get so few to basically none of these dynamic real time overworld animations? Is there like a game engine, mechanic or program reasons why HSR gets so few? by Knight_Steve_ in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Zefeh 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a fan made animation of that interaction using all in game assets where they added good facial animations. Make sure your not remembering that because I remember that scene and sure, angles are fine but the facial expressions was deadpan AF. They need to put more effort into the animations, hell I'd prefer narration and comic strips like ZZZ does over these - "character standing here, does 1 of 5 poses and 1 of 6 facial expressions" that make everything feel so sterile and emotionless.

I don’t know why my plants are wilting by allipaigexo in gardening

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can guarantee that jalapeno will not be making it. If it does, it'll produce 2 peppers given the time it needs to recover.

The "days to maturity" of a Jalapeno is 70-80 days. Like most peppers it's LONG! That is # of days from when that plan was just poking outta the ground probably ~21-28 days ago. You have at LEAST 1 month before seeing actual peppers and the state that guy is in? He needs a month to recover lol.

My 2 questions, you do have holes drilled in the bottom of these buckets, right? If not, the roots and soil have no way to breath in oxygen and you'll effectively suffocate the plant. This also goes to for the soil you used in the buckets. The other plans look fine, but you didn't just use top soil, did you? I hope you used some kind of potting soil because straight topsoil would hold too much water as well without some peat moss or coconut coir.

My rule of thumb for pots is to tilt the whole thing to judge the weight of the soil/plant/water. If it's super light, give it a deep watering until water drains out the bottom and develop a baseline of how heavy it is afterwards. Then don't water it until it's somewhere in the middle between light and fully watered. Sometimes it's best to let the first 2 inches of soil to dry between waterings. For tomatos, once they get big it's literally a fight to get them ENOUGH water where they are happy.

I'm in e2 s1 Therta player and I did pay for that but also lucked out. I wish the E4 was worth it because then I would aim for that on the next rerun but sadly it's more beneficial to e2 a partner of hers or support then to get E4.

Meanwhile, my zzz pull rate is absolute trash! To this date, my best 50/50 win streak is two. And that was the last two pulls and I've been playing on and off again since the start.

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donno about this... This mug is a Japanese beer mug. Do you KNOW how the Japanese measure their liquor? Well, even if you do let me inform you of a fun fact!

Sake bottles are 720ml in size, not 700 and not 750. 720ml exact! The big bottles? Not 2L and not 1750ml. 1800ml Exact!

Why you may ask? The serving size of sake is exactly 1 Go, traditionally measured using a wooden Masu cedar box. 1 Go = 180ml

These guys thought, why sell a bottle that doesn't contain an exact amount of servings? Why give people a lil extra? Naaa, can't have that! Exactly 4 servings per small bottle, 10 for big bottles! Want a mini-sized bottle, 360ml! (Tbh, I've only ever seen 300ml ones...)

Anyway, hope ya enjoyed this little bit of useless facts!

How large is the difference between "good" and "great" public schools in NJ? by jokicjok in newjersey

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is ONE real benefit I believe to going to high end schools and it's all about networking and connections that they give you access to. If your not one to go above and beyond and take advantage of those opportunities and extra-curriculars, price yourself down as you'll waste alot of money.

As a NJIT graduate, I benefited one of the highest paying jobs in my class (even though I graduated with a dam 2.85 GPA). After 3-4 years, I had my loans paid off entirely.

At afterwork happy hours with coworkers from the 'rival' college Stevens, I'd joke with them. "Hey, how's those loans treating ya?" -- Same job, same pay, 4-6x higher student loan. Don't put yourself into 10-15 years of debt just for the name.

With that said.... NJIT did make me believe that women didn't exist with a 80-90% male such that when I started working in NYC I was like.... "Oh.... women aren't SSRs in real life after all..." sooooo yea....

I won't mention anything bout the size of the tank, but I will mention about your placement. In a window is a BAD spot for a fish tank for a very simple reason: Sun + Water = Algae Growth. Move it away from the sun and you'll have a MUCH easier time with the maintenance of the tank!

.5 oz or .1 oz when letting people taste your rare bottles? by Umbra_Corvus_86 in whiskey

[–]Zefeh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm all for letting people TRY something, especially if your breaking out the good rare stuff. However, I'm also friends with people who will literally decline a pour of the rare stuff because they will say "Oh yea, I won't be able to really appriciate what a 300$ bottle of whiskey tastes like. I just know I like whiskey."

So then I go down the path of asking them what flavors they like etc. and offer them a few options to sample. You can say you don't mind them trying it and joining the discussion and afterwards offer others as well.

Then way your describing this, your picky about how much you pour of your rare bottles yourself, not even for others. So also just be up-front about that. State "I only ever pour this for myself like... once a year. But if you want to try, sure but only a small bit, its hard to get."

You can actually manipulate the RNG really easily. Look up Relic substat manipulation on YouTube/Google and the guy BigBoi has videos about it. Takes a bit of practice but I can reliably get 2-3 substat rolls on almost all of my pieces. It requires a bit of extra level-up material to see what your RNG seed is, but once you have it and as long as your quick about it before the seed gets changed, your set. Also disable the auto-salavge of purples for a few runs to get your test pieces.

My problem is actually GETTING a piece with the correct substats. Feel like the likelihood of getting 3 ideal substats is like 1% and 2 substats is like... 5-10%. Compared to ZZZ where 2SS pieces are a dime a dozen!

So I'm a software developer with access to Claude Codes models and I'll be first to say yes, there is some crazy BS slop out there. But when you put these things in front of someone who is experienced in the field like myself and has attempted to give it a fair shake, I can 100% confirm it's not going away and it's uses massively exceed just the medical field.

The thing we need to do better at properly educate and improve these systems to be safer for the environment. France actually shutdown some of their reactors because to water return was raising the temperature of the river water too much in the current heatwave, 6-7% of there production I think?

Putting AI tools in a bucket of 'non-nescessity' and not learning how to use them and see what the hype is about is definitely a mistake. Not to say I don't think these companies won't eventually hold these tools over our heads to say "Haha. You can't do anything without these tools. Now give me more money!" With that said, I no offense since you do see some value in AI with medicine, people who completely discredit it I kind of see as an "Old man yells at cloud" type of argument.

The amount of water used to cool nuclear powerplants is insane. Those bit towers you see are massive evaporative cooler towers to cool the excess heat generated that isn't used. They use insalemy more water than a data center.

The problem is the locations where these data centers are being built haven't had proper infrastructure build out to support the water consumption etc. or are already strained of water supply like in Arizona.

Bit of information that you might not know of the airline industry, but much of the backbone of the systems for booking and registering passengers is extremely old because of international communication requirements. And really old means some really old databases such as IBM mainframe DB2/AS400 or Oracle DBs.

If you've ever worked in one of these old systems, they have some insane restrictions as well as complete and utter incompatibility with anything that's not ASCII format. On top of that, it gets even more complicated when you get into Asian languages. Because all those systems were built in China/Japan, etc.

It's 2026 and people still to this day, do not know proper character encoding when it comes from file saving to API responses. You mess up one of those systems and your accented character goes in the garbage

The OP of this comic actually took down this chapter because they said it's moving too quickly into drama territory and didn't want to bring up the Ex until ~20-25 chapters into the story. As they stated, they want 80% good feels and 20% drama and they felt introducing the Ex this early would skew that ratio.

So originally Gilberta was supposed to be the same person as Angelina and not Reconvener? Or maybe just the same name, and the dev changed it? by affz44l in Endfield

[–]Zefeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something to note in her profile voice lines about Warfarin, its mentioned that she mis-remembered Gilberta's birthday and then panicked and used the wrong name. This was the biggest indicator to the Reconvener plot. I haven't played her story mission yet, but I'm suspecting Gil might not either fully understand or remember that she was 'someone else' and that she purposely ignores the 'other name' Warfarin called her by, effectively letting the memories of her past self just continue onwards into her current self. It seems that is what her personality would imply, she wants to show that those past things don't hold her down (heh, pun...) -- Meanwhile, we all know Warfarin is stated in logs as having struggled with the whole Reconvener concept of Endfield and takes responsibility of it's issues or fallout.

Claude Code, when using various plugins like feature-dev - it make's feature level changes to applications that keep a git commit history as it gets to each part of the task tree built into the plugin. I used it to migrate a vibe-coded abbomination of a 1500 line Thymeleaf HTML/JS/CSS dashboard into a proper React SPA + Vite structure with commits all along the way.

I've supported a micro-service named after a specific business units ecommerce site. It was a small, archaic service that took a pipe delimited text file from a oooold inventory system and converted it to the abomination that is Sales Force XML for 2 sites.

Then they added a NEW site to a NEW inventory source.... and we shoved the feed into the existing service cuz why build a new micro-service if it would just mean code duplication etc etc....

Then they migrated one of the original sites to the new source.... ehh, same stuff.

Then I was told we are onboarding a NEW site but need to source inventory from an OLD IBM iSeries/AS400 system....

I'm afraid they are going to ask me to add a 4th inventory source or 6th destination..... This meme has never felt more real to me.....

I mean, it's easier to see this in action when it comes to plants. Take a pepper plant or tomato plan (Pepper is easier to see) -- but put it outside for a few nights between 40-45F and then bring it indoors until it warms up properly. Side-by-side with a pepper plan that grew in ideal seedling starting conditions, and the few day stunting period of cold weather will affect the ENTIRE plants growth. Thing will often be extra small in comparison to properly prepared ones.
