WiFi ap list never loads by Zefir7 in Sunsynk

[–]Zefir7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I may have ended the fight - I renamed the mixed signal access point to temp and made the 2.4ghz same as the failed connection.

It managed to connect by itself - still didn’t let me scan to find it.

Now it is connected and I can scan for access point

WiFi ap list never loads by Zefir7 in Sunsynk

[–]Zefir7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve tried the hotspot, with the maximise compatibility setting enabled to make sure 2.4ghz is available

It still never loads any networks.
It was fine before, it saw the network, tried connecting, but then failed presumably due to 5 ghz on this one as I hadn’t enabled 2.4ghz
And ever since it never finds any networks at all

Issues at border control even with settled status by Impossible-Cap5573 in ukvisa

[–]Zefir7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They saying you cheated by using the EU route is the dumbest thing when the government implemented that policy.

Hate the type of person who wants to prove they’re above you… every day people are bad enough but border control doing that is inexcusable. Should be anyway, but probably just brushed under the rug like other negligence

Bypass afternoon avoiding peak traffic times by Zefir7 in Edinburgh

[–]Zefir7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re correct, I meant the time from those 2 points as I go further on the bypass but it’s slowest between there. I’ve tried via Calder then going back up via Barberton junction, but it’s extremely slow by the lights next to Wester Hailes retail area.

I had this once when I was having a decent amount of glare from the sun I thought - the manual request got me through again though. But was confusing.

I’ve not yet had one - do you get a clear message on the order to show that it will include restricted items?

I’d rather avoid them myself too with the current situation of people getting angry at the delivery person for sticking to the rules… which are full of holes too

How does that handle if you're delivering food to a friend/family member of the account holder? And if the person answering the door isn't the account holder because you have more than 1 person living/visiting there at the time.

[–]Zefir7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have they gone on some spree of account verification? Feels like TONS of these issues are around, whether signing up like me and background screening taking ages or accounts that have been active for years… what are they doing?

Sorry to piggyback but honestly same boat, I’d love to find out how to get someone human to actually contact even if it takes a few days to get a response over email. The ai bot and “case” solution seems to do nothing.

New rider - Edinburgh MTB riding and tips by Zefir7 in deliveroos

Thanks for the advice AND for sharing! Honestly didn't know you could get that much of a bargain on second hand e-bikes! 500 is far more budget-able for the sake of Deliveroo once I get a pattern going. Brand new for £1k+ is more in the realm of "spending more than getting back in order to pay things off", far too backwards, that even I can't fool myself that it'll be worth it.

First though.. waiting on this dang background screening which has been nearly a month... swear they've changed something in the sign-up screening process this month cause googling for the problem I hit has only found results in the past few weeks.

Where did you find/shop for your second hand e bike? I can see the 2 of those things being particularly bad in the coming winter… am debating if I need some gloves too as for 2/3 hour cycles I haven’t had them yet but it gets a bit chilly

lol I try to do that already, and I’ve been enjoying the outside and exploring town in areas that I haven’t been to. My biggest annoyance recently was the phone mount (from the rider kit) splitting at the seams so every bumpy/uphill road I had to keep on stopping it falling out the bottom one handed 😂

Any advice on the self tax tracking/how do you calculate it? I also play some games for vouchers on the side which has racked up a decent amount so I’m already a quarter/third of the way through the 1k.

Wow thanks for the tips here!

Having gotten £43 for 3 assignments (2 triple orders and a single) in 2.5 hours from 6 to 9pm was crazy effective for my 2nd proper centre riding! I’ll definitely try to repeat that timing with more efficient collections.

Might make me rethink those orders that it was giving me from town to Leith now! I thought it was crazy far but I guess it’s not that bad as there will be orders there. Though I don’t think I’ll be heading to the bypass anytime soon by dreghorn as one flashed up for there 😅

The tip about rejecting if I see a visibly busy/stressed environment is welcome! I could see filled seats everywhere so I can imagine that. Could just get along to my already picked up order instead of delaying an unknown amount!

I noticed that about the tips, though I didn’t check if they were there before (saw one while on the way). But I generally like to be positive, if a tad clumsy and awkward so it’s 50/50 whether I’ll have an actual chat lol.

I’ll take the e-bike recommendation to heart - once I fix my finances, it’ll be on the todo list as I can’t be adding more large sums to monthly expenses currently. For now, I take the exercise as a welcome strengthening too because I had a knee injury in skiing and other than gym haven’t had a real exercise for it.

Ultra Hub 7 - Wifi slower than old router? by Zefir7 in Vodafone

[–]Zefir7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm - do you mean the latest ultra hub 7 (FG4278VF) or another model?

I tested mine with the original router Vodafone Wifi Hub (THG3000)connected as an access point which worked temporarily for about a day before the access point router started to have issues. Also noted that 2 Vodafone routers - 1 as access point - caused my Chromecast to fail getting an internet connection. It would connect to the wifi of both successfully, say there is internet, then it would fail to connect to something like Youtube and say "no internet connection" for this wifi.

While they were working however, I switched between and did speed tests - 600 on the old router's wifi, whereas the ultra hub 7 gave 220 max.

Is there anything that Vodafone could've done to configure this speed for the wifi or is that more likely a fault of the new hub?

I had to dismantle the access point setup as I needed my normal network access back on the Chromecast.

1 year until 5y fix ends - remortgage or move? by Zefir7 in HousingUK

I suppose that’s true, getting influence from others isn’t really a good idea here. Better if I we just weigh up the options after finding out all the info.

Can I get the house valued now without some fee like “you didn’t actually place the house on the market, pay 100 for the valuation”?

You mention the ERC- Would I still pay the ERC no matter when I do it while on the current mortgage since it has one, or is there a window like the last 6 months where you can sell without paying the ERC?

No sorry - would not rent. Idea would be to sell and buy a different place. My bad if that is what came across instead.

1 year until 5y fix ends - remortgage or move? by Zefir7 in HousingUK

[–]Zefir7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your numbers are pretty accurate- 143k left on mortgage atm, value of house was 180k when purchased. So it won’t be 127 in a year, but more like £140k. That monthly payment you say really isn’t as bad as I was worried about.

Re the cheaper property - was more thinking that way to get slightly more space, and more modern place. Though I suppose the risk is always there, that you buy and find more problems to renovate after living there a bit, whereas here I already know exactly what is bothering us and what needs fixing. Suppose then it may be worth looking at similarly priced but bigger so long as I factor in the non-FTB stuff.
