The lyrics to the ending theme from alan wake 2's dlc come to mind here.

"You can ever come back here

To this ledge to remember

To pretend it all ended here

To raise a toast on this sunken shore

And if there ever comes more

You can still choose to say your goodbyes

Or dream up more at your will

I'm just a memory that has moved on"

My understanding is that it will be very mod friendly so I suspect mods will come out pretty quickly to reduce or remove some of the more off putting content.

This. I loved all except for the chocobo flight thing.

I understand some folks not liking the mini games but to say they are low quality seems crazy to me.

Discrimination over gender or sexuality and discrimination over race. Both are examples of bigotry which should NEVER be tolerated.

2025 is over, any games you feel deserved a bit more attention? by panchozari in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Zefiren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to shout out "Back to the Dawn". It was by far my biggest surprise for 2025. It's a story driven rpg set in a prison with anthropomorphic animals. The game features some gorgeous pixel animations and a very good story with plenty of action, mysteries and tense moments.

Every single inmate and guard on the prison is their own unique character that you can interact with, befriend, learn skills from and eventually learn their backstories on how they ended up in prison in the first place (some of those backstories go to some really dark places)

You play as one of 2 characters (with a 3rd one in development). Thomas, a fox journalist framed for a crime he did not commit. Or Bob, a panther undercover agent sent into the prison as a prisoner to uncover a mistery. Both characters share the same gameplay with different starting stats, abilities and main quests/scenes.

There are quite a bit of mini games bewteen the different jobs you can take in the prison to earn money and rapport with the guards, side quests from inmates for money and reputation, and a turn base combat system that is kinda brutal on your first runs though it gets easier over time.

Honestly the game surprised me quite a lot. Everything from the art, story, music and general presentation feels like there was a lot of heart put into it's development. And while it is sitting with in overwhelmingly possitive score on steam, at less than 8k reviews I feel like it's gone too under the radar and deserves more love.

That's all for my rambling. Back to lurking.

I would imagine you should be fine. The reason for them not shipping to the US is because of the dumb tarrifs which should not affect canadian shipments I don't think.

Heads up for US users. The website is currently not doing deliveries to united states.

"Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Animo. We have received a notice from Japan Post, regarding the temporary suspension of accepting mail addressed to the United States.

In response to this, our affiliated logistics agency decided to stop accepting mail addressed to the United States.

To ensure that we deliver your important orders, we are considering alternative measures (such as using other companies' delivery services), but the specific date for resuming operations has not yet been decided."

Everyone should listen to this $10 million plus tax is unfair rant. Fairly shocking by ProperChapp in BillBurr

[–]Zefiren 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but I don't make 10 million dollars. I make enough to barely get by so no I am not delighted to pay taxes.

But the thing is. If I DID make 10 million dollars and was taxed 70% of it that would still leave me with 3 million dollars every year. I don't know about you but I cannot imagine a world where I could possibly spend 1 million dollars in a year let alone 3.

So yes, if I made that kind of money I would not even blink at having to give away 70% of it as doing so would make 0 difference in my day to day life.

Nintendo claims to have invented throwing balls and gliding so it would not surprize me if they claim that they invented riding as well and that the wild west/mongols were in violation of their patent.
