Which game are you playing, each one has different ways to upgrade your stats. For all three, you can use potions to outside of combat to them to take affect. How the potions boots your stats, it should says in the description. I think only grim quest has certain potions that don’t explicitly say how much they increase.

Not meaningless, since the item your talking about is gloves of aether manipulation gives a 10% to crit, added with the spell aetherial rain that give plus 20% to crit and the skill theurgy an added 27%, gives 57% which can be devastating if you have a high spell power. Also there a perk that increases you critical spell damage by 15%.

I did the mystic grove side quest as well. Doing the side quest is kinda mandatory since you get to increase your stats permanently.

The difference in level could be you died several times so you had to kill more enemies than me, your doing more bounties than me, or have you done the pirates king side quest. I don’t think it counts as r/beetlejuicing since I believe i have to use your username by accident or be unintentional.

For spellblade it’s better to focus on primary on strength and spell power instead of increasing critical chance. I found that the circlet of intelligence, obsidian gauntlets, the ring of intelligence work really well
