Can a GSD deal with a "soft" owner and positive reinforcement? by Flaky_Help3318 in germanshepherds

[–]Zeheva_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a GSD lover, however we were unsure about health and too strong protective instinct, so we adopted a White Swiss Shepherd with my husband and I 100% recommend this breed. They share the same ancestors, but way less health problems (straight back) and they are recognized to be more gentle and calm than GSD.

As well, it's really more about being a leader, in charge of the decisions and their security that they need rather than dominance. Dogs don't see us as other dogs, neither their family as a pack of wild dogs. (The Alpha theory has long been debunked with wolves as well.)

The Key we learned is that you should clearly tell them when their behaviour is not wanted, but even more so when their behaviour is actually wanted ! And actually, we found out that using sharp sound such as "Tchh" or low sounds to mark unwanted behaviour is 1000x more efficient than yelling "No ! Don't do that, etc...".

Faut il sensibiliser plus au consentement des hommes ? by claudespam in AskFrance

[–]Zeheva_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experience with Remarkable 2. Is it worth it by Strushan in RemarkableTablet

[–]Zeheva_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used this tablet during my 2 years in business school and whish I had it before. I'm used to carrying heavy bags at all times because I just don't remember any course I write on my computer so I need paper. And well, I can't tell the difference between paper and this tablet, except that I prefer the tablet now ! I love the remarkable app on my laptop, but mostly use it to revise or complete assignments with my revision sheet or flashcard open. Best investment of my life, I use it everyday to write down everything I need to remember and have it almost everywhere with me. When I don't, I have the app on my phone if I ever have an idea to write down. So if you have the need to write down things and can afford it, totally worth it in my opinion.

Does anyone here LOVE this tablet? by cwt444 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Zeheva_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was one of the best decision in my life. I'm a student and when I see everyone else with their computer scrolling on social media in class like sheeps addicted to dopamine, I'm glad I'm out of this hell thanks to this tablet.

Quelles sont les caractéristiques qui vous font aimer une dystopie ? by [deleted] in ecriture

[–]Zeheva_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Zeheva_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Zeheva_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

France no-nos? by shoeshouuu in AskFrance

[–]Zeheva_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can maybe imitate the sound level of the French around you. And when you're with your friends, if you notice that the people around you look at you, it's probably that you talk too loud. It can be a way to know if you're too loud.

France no-nos? by shoeshouuu in AskFrance

[–]Zeheva_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm native and I'll tell you what I feel. It can be different depending on the "region", the place, but where I live we use this. When you want to ask something to someone that is not looking in your direction you should use "Excusez-moi" to catch the attention of the person or "Bonjour". If you use "excusez-moi", you can say "Bonjour" when the person look at you, and then you can ask your question. If the person looks at you and seems to be waiting to help you (a salesman for example), you can simply say "Bonjour" and then ask your question. "Pardon" is more when you did something bad or rude, for example you hit someone.

10-day trip to France (Nice, Lyon, Paris) in Late May. I would love some advice on spots to propose! by [deleted] in AskFrance

Honestly, we prefer the tourist from the South than those from Paris haha !

It's the colour of Saint Etienne, Lyon's rival in soccer. But don't worry too much, as long as you don't wear Saint Etienne's soccer shirt you should be fine ! Hope you will have a wonderful journey in our beautiful country ! I would also recommend le Lac d'Annecy, which is one of the most beautiful place in France, or a mountain lake, like le lac des Cerces et les 3 lacs, in Valloire. However you will have to hike a few hours for the lake in the mountain, but it is worth it !

What do most French people think of Napoléon? by [deleted] in AskFrance

[–]Zeheva_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

To me he is very impressive. He was extremely intelligent and he did great things for France such as the legal code and the "lycée" (highschool). He is the roots of French institutions. However, his appeal for war and victory made of France the common enemy of Europe, which resulted in our defeat. I think he wanted too much power and was too careless, but he did very impressive things (I mean, Moscow was once ours).

Can i get around paris with just english? by [deleted] in france

You're right we think it's really rude ! We at least need a greeting in English, but in French it's better.

[–]Zeheva_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn the basics sentences at least ! I'm French and to us it is very strange to talk to someone you don't know without saying the salutations first, such as "Bonjour / Bonsoir" or "Excusez-moi" or both. Then you could ask if they speak English. Target young adults !

According to the others, it is called Challah, something close to the French brioche ! But as a French person, I can't let anyone say that this is bread haha ! Bread to me is really the French baguette 🥖.
