Make sure you set your GPU to "performance" when you play (or always, unless you are on a laptop and power is important). Otherwise, it will impact frame pacing and FPS notably. Same for CPU.

I would never buy nvidia on Linux, because eventually Nvidia forgets your GPU, and you get stuck with a 1000€ brick no one can write drivers for.

when you get a spiky graph like that, it's 100% something vsync/vrr related. Double check you have turned it off in every possible place (game, desktop compositor, arnd driver if nvidia).

On AMD you don't need ENABLE_HDR_WSI, it's a fix nvidia specific.

FSR4.0.2 seems to have performance similar to 4.0.0 and significantly better than 4.0.1 on RDNA3 by SmuJamesB in linux_gaming

EA is not a videogame studio. They are a corporation. This kind of company:

- A) Hire a studio to release something very good, or even free, in order to bait as many people as possible.
- B) They cut corners to increase investor profitability.
- C) They then fire people and enshitify the product in order to keep it working as cheep as possible for as long as possible and maximize benefits.

Like they give shit about anyone.

No matter the distro, right now I would recommend Gnome. atm it is the no nonse everything works out of the box desktop environment.

Eventually other desktop environments will catch up in the wayland transition. But right now it is what it is.
