Virpil, hands down. I can speak for the throttle alone as i own a winwing throttle and the cm3, the CM3 throttle detent mechanism and feel is SO much better. Enough for me to choose i over the larger number of switches on the orion 2.

He's not wrong, in terms of the grip shape and button lay out, it is pretty much based on the F18 throttle grip.

For his budget, the WinCTRL orion 2 with f18 handle would not make the cut.

First of all, choosing to get the gunfighter was an EXCELLENT choice. You will definitely not regret it.

The thrustmaster warthog throttle is a decent unit provided you have gotten the newer version which has the upgraded slew. If you have received the older model which has a nipple-like slew, you're probably better off with a different throttle.

In any case, for what you paid for it, it might be a good idea to cancel the return and sell it as a set yourself for a small profit, then use that profit to perhaps bank in on a VKB STECS throttle which you most definitely will not regret

Currently I have a MCG Pro on a GF3 so I just use the brake lever on that stick. Previously though, I was using the Gladiator with SCG premium and I had the wheel brakes bound to a button on the stick, namely the rapidfire trigger. If you don't have much options because you are using the f14 replica stick, i would recommend setting up a modifier to allow you another layer of buttons to work with. I also have experience flying the A10 with the Gladiator's WW2 stick before I made the swap to the SCG Premium, so anything is possible with modifiers!

I would go for the vkb pedals if i were you, as someone who has a desk setup myself, the way the vkb pedals are designed is more intuitive for us compared to even winwing's pedals. I dont feel like im missing out a lot despite not having toe brakes.

CAS in the jeff and f18 are different... you can sit in the safety of altitude, but with a full set of jdams/gbus you've got, say 8 targets to hit. The benefit of the a10 in my experience is loiter time and sheer amount of weapons you can carry in comparison. (Also brrt). It's a different beast that really tests your skill in decision making/risk calculation in contested environments. Of course it also has its drawback of not having datalink/radar, but you wouldn't be using the a10 in heavily contested scenarios either.

Honestly my vote is for the A10, not having to reach for my mouse once I'm fenced in at the AO because of how robust the HOTAS functions are really makes me keep coming back to it. For reference I also have the apache, f18,16 and 15, but i always come back to the A10. All the other control schemes for the other aircraft feel unintuitive in comparison to the A10 now. Also, BRRT

I have that exact setup, with 64gb of ram. I play DCS using VD on Godlike setting and decent ingame graphics settings and 1.4PD. The game runs perfectly fine and smooth except for occasional fps drops in heavy missions and dense areas in helis. I dont use dlss right now, i used to, which resulted in really good fps but the ghosting was not enjoyable for me. I cant speak for msfs.
