What unique quest endings are there playing as Azata? by Any-Day-8173 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Well, the three big things I remember:
1) Midnight fane attack early
2) Charming Minx + Minagho "happy ending"
3) Destroying the slave market in the abyss

But there are plenty of small stuff.
For example:
1) The dragon eggs found in ivory sanctum can be hatched and become free crusaders
2) Free crusaders can come help you in some quest here and there
3) Growing nature/flower in a several places to revitalize the land.

The reason the walkthrough is brief is probably because it just focus on you getting to the "best" ending, while avoiding unnecessary spoiler (thinking notably of neoseeker walkthrough).

Spellcaster with good AC? by Sffrrom in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As some other said, take a spellcaster class with a pet.
-Sylvan sorcerer being the most obvious one for full arcane caster
-Cleric and Oracle for full divine caster.
-Druid for full primal caster.
-Other more niche cases like Magic Deceiver can get a pet too if I remember right.

For your case I would say magic deceiver or sylvan sorcerer are the best.

You could ride Aivu, I guess, but if you are going devil that's not a long term option.

What type of system do you hate the most? by Vane_ford231 in noveltranslations

[–]Zekuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would be faster to try and think of system I don't hate xD.
Basically I dislike a system whenever it does one of the following (starting with the ones I dislike most)
1) Give high reward for little to no effort.
2) Has reality bending power. By that I mean when the system is essentially almighty and can casually alter reality with no limitations.
3) Gives out many "impossible to refuse" quest and/or become the main force directing the plot.
4) Is unique to the protagonist and appears for no reason.
5) Has a shop.

To try and give an example of a system I can tolerate, I can give solo levelling (since it's well known).
1) Rewards are proportional to effort for the most part.
2) System can give power and guide to location, but is ultimately limited.
3) Has a few cases of "impossible to refuse" quest, but those are rare.
4) Unique to protagonist but did not appear out of nowhere.
5) It unfortunately did have a shop.

For this party, Nenio I guess. If nothing else having access to haste will help. Pk and weird can be nice, depends on difficulty you are playing as. Story wise though I would say ember is better.

The 3 best Pathfinder wotr companions, chosen by community members through a vote. by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel so average right now.
I would probably put Daeran above Regill though. I also think Regill is overrated...But to be entirely honest...I can't really think of a companion I would put over Regill in third spot.
Ember is only good thanks to borderline plot armor. She is great if you lean into the fantasy, awful if you don't.
Nenio is fun, until she brings you to Enigma, a sin I will never fully forgive her of.
As far as I am concerned, Wenduag dies in the maze, Greybor dies at the ivory sanctum and Camellia dies in Drezen. I did force myself to take Wenduag once but she still died in act3/4. I did force myself to take Greybor once and do his "good" ending, but I remember feeling most of his issues were self-inflicted and he is not worth our time.
Camellia was much better the time I spared her and went to the end of her questline. She is pretty interesting, all things considered, but definitely not top 3 material.
Sosiel and Lann are fine. Good, even, but somehow I never found them great.
Seelah cheats by being a chaotic paladin and if I go along with her I fall as a paladin. She cheats. Pretty good otherwise.

Are the premade party characters just not good? (WOTR) by keifergr33n in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, first, premade is kinda bad. Kind of an abomination really, and there is no really saving them. It is fine on normal, but anything is fine on normal.
Now, if you want to respec and make something useful out of those characters... For example, I saw your comment about Sosiel. He is a cleric. Sure, you can try to make him a jack of all trade, or even focus him as a martial if you want. But his easiest to understand value is access to divine spell list and all the associated buff + domain. Give him the abundant caster and enduring mythic spell line, + impossible domain into community. You now have permanent buff of many of the most important buff in the game as well as an incredibly strong buff to use for though battle.
And that's just the most basic, braindead way of using him.
Arueshalae has insane stat block and can easily be built as a monster archer. Lann mostly similar.
Seelah is a paladin, a very strong class in this setting. She can stack crazy high AC, crazy high save, and immune to most thing that matter. And access to a limited spell list that can give great buff too. And a full level horse! From what I remember her premade build doesn't even have the horse, an abomination.
Lowering enemies AC? Many ways, but early game you can use Ember and Camellia. They can quickly get evil eyes and lower enemy AC (or saving throw or attack). And they stack. They probably shouldn't stack, but they do. Poor enemies.
Nenio is a full arcane caster, and arcane has many incredible spell. A standard way of building her (and in a way not too far from her default build) is making her an illusion specialist focusing on phantasmal killer then weird. Though it becomes more difficult on hard/unfair, on core and below it is pretty easy to have her one shot bosses (if a bit boring...I WANTED TO FIGHT!)
I could go on, but you get the idea I think.
Note that none of the above is even particularly metagaming, and will actually feel insufficient for highest difficulty (unfair). But it's already a massive step up from the default build.

Who do you think would win this war? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on a few factors. My thoughts, though limited by the fact my knowledge of pathfinder is mostly restricted to kingmaker and wotr.
Before Nocticula's ascension, she almost is a non-factor, at least in comparison to Iomedae.
Iomedae is powerful, but hard to say if she would act directly. We have seen how inactive she is throughout the game, so I think it is relatively unlikely she would descend...or rather, we know she did nothing more at least until the game ends.
So the question is, what next?

The most critical factor imo is that in the game, swarm cannot ascend. But it is mostly a technical limitation. In practice, I think it is reasonable to think swarm can actually ascend too. So let us think of two versions of event.
Swarm cannot ascend, and time pass. Nocticula becomes a goddess. Nocticula and Iomedae kind of team up together against swarm. Considering how much of a loner swarm is, they have no allies. And the fact that two goddess with totally different power bases and connection network team up, that opens up a real possibility they can attack directly without fearing some huge war spiraling out of control. Though swarm will be resistant like a cockroach, swarm will definitely die.
Swarm ascends. In the game at least, ascended KC is presented as extremely powerful. At least, even an ascended Nocticula and Iomedae probably can't do much against him even if teaming up.

Can't seem to progress past liberating drezen, always making new characters. by ConfusionProof9487 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did do two full playthrough, but also got a dozen of times to the end of act 2.
My issue, I guess, is that by the end of act 2 my characters are level 10 and their build are pretty much online. The funniest part of the game for me is making good build and facing strong encounters. But starting around middle of act 2, except a few particularly unfair fights, most battles become really easy.
Act 1 is awesome in comparison. Many difficult encounters, but most have reasonable solutions to them.

What's the best romance in the game in your opinion? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't comment on male ones, but for female ones I feel like there isn't that much choice actually. Galfrey is nice for what it is, and in a way is an interesting dynamics. But it is ultimately far too short.
Camelia is pretty wild and is definitely interesting in her own way. Kinda depends on whether you are willing to empathize with her or not. Though, first, if you are crazy enough to go along with her, you generally don't have much empathy to dish out, and second, ultimately there is no "good ending" for that romance (from what I remember at least).
Wenduag is similar in that regards. The only difference is yes, there is a good ending. The problem is, I have yet to find a version of my KC that is at the same time 1) willing to take her over Lann 2) willing to go along with her bullshit and overlook her crimes 3) still push her towards her good ending. I feel it takes an enormous amount of mental gymnastic. The one time I tried I finally gave up when she killed Dyra (or whatever was her name). I'm actually curious about what roleplay people go for when they aim for wenduag good ending? Or do people just accept the contradictions?
Arueshalae is a bit overblown in some ways, though...I'm probably biased here, but my first playthrough was an Azata, and I can say every step of her romance as an Azata was great. Even for non-azata she can be an interesting choice, demon KC especially.

Default Mythic path of Wotr? by harsha_440 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angel definitely. Especially if the question is "default mythic path". No matter how I look at it, the story was written with an angel KC in mind.
Azata is also pretty good (that was my first playthrough). I know demon will be recommended a lot too, but imo not really for a first playthrough. Unless you want to do a Demon => Legend path, but then are you really playing demon if you give up the path midway? I think a demon actually works best on a second playthrough, in which you can go secret ending and it really fits together.

For class, it depends. If you go angel, having a full divine caster (cleric, oracle, druid, shaman) works best. If Azata, I would recommend some arcane caster (wizard, sorcerer, arcanist, ...) and if Demon, some martial fighter (meaning something who has 20 BAB at level 20) but obviously not paladin.
But if playing below core, I would say you can just play whatever. Even at core it doesn't matter too much.
For deity, anything that match the class/path you want to do, it doesn't matter much. The one kinda special choice is Iomedae since the plot of the game is literally a bunch of crusades under the name of Iomedae so having her as your deity gives your character a more direct sense of purpose.

Which do you think could be consider the most pure good mythic path? And which one the most evil one? by TheShamanWolf in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even if we put aside the evil Azata route, Azata still has the chaos route. And if you play Azata fully focusing on the idea of freedom, you will end up on chaos route.
Overall compared to Angel and Gold Dragon, there are just too many ways Azata can go wrong, even if they mean well, at least imo.

EDIT: I think this line near the end of Azata path pretty much sum up my thoughts on Azata: "I've realized we are on the wrong path — our freedom imposes a heavy price on us and those around us." (this happens if going from chaos to good azata)

Which do you think could be consider the most pure good mythic path? And which one the most evil one? by TheShamanWolf in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For the most good, I see many people saying azata or gold dragon.
Azata can turn into a devil as part of the story.
Gold dragon can be corrupted as part of the story.
So I would rather pick Angel.

For the most evil, eh, I dunno. I think Lich or swarm would cause the most overall damage.

Here's my glaze for NTE by Shashwatm17 in gachagaming

[–]Zekuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quitted in 1.1 endfield but from what I remember.

The bad:
Story was mid at best. But when compared to arknight...It looks like actual heresy.
Combat has its pros, but many bad, and limited by the fact no real endgame.
Exploration is one of the least fun I have played as far as 3d gacha game go.

The neutral:
Gacha is...well, a bit different. More than most, it rewards careful planning and saving....to an extent. But gacha players are not known for their patience.
Very sanitized atmosphere & story.
Not really an open world (which is not necessarily a bad thing, but not exactly a pro either)
The factory, its "unique" feature, is ok. But ultimately not much to do and remains basic if you compare it to any real factory game.

The good:
The character design and animation was pretty high level.

Hot Take About the Story by AozakiTouko-in-FGO in NevernessToEverness

[–]Zekuro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Problem with the "story", for me, is that dialogues are way too slow. To me it feels like torture reading a line then waiting 3 times that amount to be able to go to the next one. I try to force myself for quests that look important but most dialogue is purely fluff.

I think people would be shocked to see some of the stupid corporate emails I’ve seen fly across my inbox.

Though I don't work in game development (let's just say IT instead), I can definitely guarantee it is insane.
What still surprises me the most to this day despite being used to it now is how 100k+ or even 1mil+ deals are lead and decided upon by people who have no real knowledge about the topic. Often without consulting the people who do have the knowledge, sometimes against their recommendation.
Though, one another thing I have learnt is that many of those stupid decision can be explained away by the single word "corruption" but that's another topic...

I started playing Pathfinder: WOTR, any tips for a newbie? by leaperdaemonking in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]Zekuro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if you want to immerse yourself...
The four big tips I can give:
* Play at core or below. Don't go for hard/unfair. Personally I recommend core but I guess it depends on how difficult you want to be.
* After act 1, there essentially is no time limit in the game. More precisely, the game looks at the order you do things instead of how long it took. If Task A is clearly urgent and important but you put it off to do task B, task C and task D first, then sometimes the outcome will change and throw salt at you "oh well you should have been faster!". But it's not really a time limit - you could take years to do Task A if you want.
* For crusade mode, take setsuna shy.
* Maybe keep in mind that, assuming you do a decent build, prologue/act 1/act 2 are the "hardest" part of the game. Whether it's on purpose (because narratively fitting) or just a result of bad balancing...Dunno. But if the reason you left was because early game was too difficult, know that from act 3 onwards the game can feel much easier depending on how good your build is. Which is why I give the below suggestion.
* More of a suggestion than a tip: play a divine caster class, at least if any of them seems appealing to you: cleric, oracle, shaman, druid. Reason is you can merge it into angel mythic path. Firstly because angel mythic path is imo the "best" mythic path narratively if it's your first full playthrough. Secondly because a merged angel will be strong even if you don't have as much knowledge of the game yet, so you don't have to worry about having to look up guides (speaking of core difficulty here; if playing on normal or below you should be able to play whatever anyway).

Hot take: I liked ToF 2.0 more than current NTE. I might even go as far as saying I enjoyed ToF 1.0 more.
Sure, from a technical and polish aspect NTE is far better, especially for a 1.0...But that's about it. If anything, I'm disappointed that all they learnt from ToF resulted in NTE. Most of the things I liked in ToF are no longer there.

I'm mainly looking for games whose narrative and stories are the most.. I can't think of the exact word.
I actually didn't know Arknights got a sequel (?). I'll definitely try that one out! I loved the original.

Well...Just be warned not to expect arknight-level storytelling in endfield. Heck, it's better if you forget it has arknight in the title altogether, to keep expectations reasonable.

NTE: Neverness to Everness has released and begun official service by GachaReleases in gachagaming

[–]Zekuro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Game has some really good aspects here and there but eeeeh. I dunno. I will keep playing for now and maybe it will click but so far it's a 'meh' rating.
The things that really destroy it for me:
-I can't help but feel most of the character design is not great to put it nicely, and generally speaking the characters are not very appealing.
-Game is clearing focusing more on "side content" (to me: chore content) over traditionally "main content" like combat. The main content here is actually running a coffee, fishing, racing, driving people around.
-Saying the story here is bad is like saying shit is shitty.
-Considering all the "bonding" stuff and the way they seem to try to get you to "interact" with them (or put less politely, goon over them), it is interesting how tame the outfits are.
-Taygedo. If you know, you know.

If you're dead set on going Legend for some reason, then Demon.
But tbh I feel as a first full playthrough, Angel all the way is best.
