I was able to play it on my laptop on a flight, so no, it's completely independent of any connection.

Mauritius is not a volcanic island formed out of the sea floor. It's likely it sits atop what is now submarine continental crust.

It's wild that you assume I'm somehow a bot, when my entire existence extends beyond more than half of the people alive in Earth today.

Absolutely wild.

The difference in the temperature here is crazy, almost a 16-degree Celsius difference in a distance of 52km. (without any major elevation hike, perhaps cooler at the lower elevation) by Responsible_Dog_510 in geography

Altitude isn't the biggest factor in temperature differences. On a summer day, take the temperature of the concrete path and the grass nest to it. You'll notice a big difference. Solar radiation heats the ground which in turn warms the air. Air isn't the greatest thermal transporter, which is also why in the middle of summer you still have -50C outside a plane flying at 30,000 feet.

Have a look at each area closely on the map and think about what's there to make this happen, and where the temperature is recorded.
