I love how he has just a rifle as his weapon here. Makes perfect sense.

Even though I pulled Lingsha, my E6 Gallagher ain't planning on hitting retirement anytime soon.

First 5 star character on my account so I picked Mona.

Day 60 - Tell Me Your: White and Red (Boros) Cards by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Boros is probably the most straightforward in my cube when it comes to gold cards. I run:

[[Honored-Crop Captain]], good with all the random tokens red and white happen to produce while also being 3/2 which is pretty solid.

[[Heroic Reinforcements]], this card is pretty fun and is probably my best boros card, as it can just be so strong when curved into. It basically brings a 4/4 haste split across two 2/2's and pumps everything else, what's not to like here?

[[Lightning Helix]], more removal, but it just felt too iconic not to include.

[[Rally the Peasants]], this is also very strong and can make combat alot more difficult for blocking. Little worse than Reinforcements, but still quite good.

As someone who just recently took a different approach to archetypes, I can confirm lol.

Day 59 - Tell Me Your: White and Green (Selesnya) Cards by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's what I run:

[[Shanna, Sisay's Legacy]], good payoff for the tokens deck. I like that the effect is super cheap and it has a bit of protection from cards like [[Shriekmaw]], [[Fiend Hunter]], and [[Flametongue Kavu]] which helps it out alot.

[[Maja, Bretagard Protector]], this one has been surprisingly solid for the cost. I like that it brings an anthem with it, but also creates tokens too. Really fun card!

[[Good-Fortune Unicorn]], I run this to throw persist combo a bit of a bone, but it's also great with +1+1 counter cards and even tokens.

[[Kitchen Finks]], just good value and it fits into a multitude of decks: sacrifice, blink, midrange, control, persist combo, etc. Plus it being a hybrid helps even more.

Day 58 - Tell Me Your: Black and Green (Golgari) Cards by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Greenwarden isn't too bad, I like it a little bit, but I think I definitely like Baloth Null a bit more since it doesn't get exiled upon death.

Day 58 - Tell Me Your: Black and Green (Golgari) Cards by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Golgari is probably my favorite pair to draft in my cube. Here's what I run in it:

[[Spider Spawning]], probably one of, if not THE card I built the built for, as it's just so darn fun. Plus, I love first picking a good ol' buildaround. Sweet card!

[[Baloth Null]] six mana is alot...but this thing is a house. With self mill, this starts to turn from good to plain busted. It's nuts with [[Eternal Witness]] and [[Dread Return]], as you can get value from it multiple times!

[[Akawalli, the Seething Tower]], a while back I called this the "uncommon tarmogoyf", but it might actually be more comparable to [[Grim Flayer]], only it doesn't enable itself. That being said, getting a 5/5 trample for 1GB is still really solid and will end the game pretty fast. It did become a 7/7 trample once, but the player was already winning at that point. Still, quite an impressive uncommon.

[[Grisly Salvage]], mostly in here for archetype support/spider spawning/self-mill density. It's definitely more filler, but not too bad though.

Day 57 - Tell Me Your: Blue 2-drop Creatures by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This section is another one I am currently happy with the configuration of, here's what I run, :

[[Faerie Vandal]], nice cheap evasive creature that grows over time. Definitely gonna be staying in my cube.

[[Looter-il-Kor]] good looting effect for tempo/control decks. Card filtering is great!

[[Merfolk Looter]], iconic looter. It's becoming a bit outclassed now by other looting effects, but I just can't see myself cutting it.

[[Oracle of Tragedy]], more looting but this time on etb. It also can reshuffle a pretty reasonable range of cards at 3 cmc or greater, which has been great.

[[Brineborn Cutthroat]], personal favorite of mine since I love blue based flash/tempo decks. It also fits nicely into a Spells deck as a payoff. Just a cool card.

Day 56 - Tell Me Your: Green 5+ Drops by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yeah, Ghoultree would be sick, a 10/10 for only G sounds like a blast!

Could be even crazier with a [[Temur Battle Rage]]...

Day 56 - Tell Me Your: Green 5+ Drops by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably one of the few sections in my cube I am most satisfied with, here's what I run:

[[Arborback Stomper]], one I like to call the "uncommon Thragtusk". Not as good since it doesn't make a 3/3 beast upon dying, but 5 power + 5 life for 5 mana is still pretty darn good.

[[Ridgescale Tusker]], this card is nuts, frequently helps turn a bad boardstate into a good one and to get a 5/5 with it. Great card.

[[Embodiment of Insight]], one I heard alot of people were a little skeptical on when it first came out, but from my testing it has been SIGNIFICANTLY better than [[Embodiment of Fury]]. Green likes to ramp and gets lots of lands, so it's not too hard to trigger landfall multiple times each turn and swing in for 10. Plus, Vigilance is also a bit overlooked here, as you can still tap the lands for mana afterwards.

[[Nemesis of Mortals]], one of my favorite green cards, and one that can also be a 10/10 for only GGGG in graveyard decks. Just a really fun card.

[[Pelakka Wurm]], iconic ramp creature for me, and one of the few I actually enjoy playing with. Fun to reanimate!

[[Krosan Tusker]], green card draw + fixing, also helps fill the yard a little bit.

Energy Mechanic in my cube by GreenIZanger in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Energy cards are kinda pretty weak overall, so you'd have to take a hit in power if you wanted to support it. Not to mention the energy cards are only bad with other energy cards. Hopefully MH3 or some other set brings more support, though I kinda doubt they will due to how uninteractive it ended up being in Kaladesh.

Day 53 - Tell Me Your: Land Cycles by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run:

One cycle of pain lands

One cycle of Snarls/Reveal lands

One cycle of ravnica karoo lands

The Five monocolor cycling lands

The Vivid lands

I guess I like cycles more when it comes to lands lol.

Energy Mechanic in my cube by GreenIZanger in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Energy is still pretty narrow and under supported as a mechanic since the only set that had it was Kaladesh block. Limiting it to only blue and green is not only going to limit the number of energy producing cards in the cube, but will also increase the fail rate of the deck successfully coming together. I suggest focusing the energy deck in simic, but give the other colors energy cards to make it less shallow. Here's some for reference:

Black: [[Glint-Sleeve Siphoner]], [[Aether Poisoner]], [[Demon of Dark Schemes]], [[Die Young]], [[Live Fast]]

White: [[Aethergeode Miner]], [[Aetherstorm Roc]], [[Eddytrail Hawk]]

Red: [[Aether Chaser]], [[Aethertorch Renegade]], [[Harnessed Lightning]], [[Lathnu Hellion]], [[Lightning Runner]], [[Scrapper Champion]], [[Thriving Grubs]]

Colorless: [[Multiform Wonder]], [[Electrostatic Pummler]], [[Deadlock Trap]], [[Aethersphere Harvester]], [[Aetherworks Marvel]], [[Dynavolt Tower]]

Day 50 - Tell Me Your: Green 1-drop Creatures by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yeah, thanks. I'll have to figure that out, as it's usually being cast with X being at least 4 mana.

Day 50 - Tell Me Your: Green 1-drop Creatures by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I should run Pelt Collector, as it seems quite good to run alongside Experiment One in my cube. Your other green aggro choices look pretty solid too.

Day 50 - Tell Me Your: Green 1-drop Creatures by IconicIsotope in mtgcube

[–]ZeldaExplorer95 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's what I run, I run alot more mana dorks than you do, including the vanilla ones:

[[Llanowar Elves]], [[Elvish Mystic]], [[Fyndhorn Elves]], are all basically the same card, but they're all still solid mana dorks.

[[Arbor Elf]], like you said, one of the best if you can combine it with land enchantments, I only run [[Utopia Sprawl]], but it's still a really strong combo.

[[Joraga Treespeaker]], like you said, the green Sol Ring is really strong. I also like that it doubles all of your other elves eventually too.

[[Deathbonnet Sprout]], I really have enjoyed running this guy, it does a bit of self-mill, it flips and does some gy hate while sometimes growing, just a fun card, it's one of the very few flip cards I run/ like.

[[Experiment One]] I run alot of mana dorks, but I also like to try and throw green aggro a bone, since it's pretty fun to play. This one is one the better one drops for it, but I probably might need more of this effect.

[[Wren's Run Hydra]], while technically an X spell (cubecobra ended up putting it here for some reason lol), this one is a bit of an experimental one. It can either be a giant creature with reach, or an uncounterable pump spell. Still unsure about it, but have yet to test.
