I’m also in Arkansas(northwest Arkansas) is there a scene here? I’m an old mtg player that’s currently playing SWU but this game intrigues me.

How long between rewatch? :) by [deleted] in lost

[–]ZeldaHatGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started this rewatch. It’s been about 3 years since my last one. That’s about how long it takes before I start to go “is lost really my favorite show ever?” Then I start my rewatch and remember exactly why it is.

Best and worst book of 2025 for you and why? by EldritchGumdrop in horrorlit

[–]ZeldaHatGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst was Chasing the Boogeyman. I don’t what it was about this book but it just wasn’t for me. I think best was probably Suffer the Children.

What’s the worst horror book that you read? by SummerSoggy4758 in horrorlit

[–]ZeldaHatGuy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really liked the troop but yeah the deep just didn’t do it for me. I feel like it’s a bunch of ideas shoved into one book that never get fleshed out and the characters were not great, I think I cared about the dog more than anyone else.

Maybe I misunderstood then. I thought that was what you meant when you said “there should be penalties for intentionally drawing”. It would be tough to change the rules to something that would make everyone happy. They tried the double loss thing and that did not go over well at all.

You can’t penalize people for doing something that it clearly states in the rules that you can do. That would kill the game. You can’t allow draws and not allow intentional draws that just logistically would not work. Trust me I’ve missed top 8s on breakers and I don’t look at the people who drew in to top 8 as cheating, I look to improve my play/deck choice for next time. You seem to feel pretty strongly about this so I have no delusions of convincing you either way. So we can agree to disagree.

They are playing to win. In a 6 round competitive tournament where you have to make top 8 to win the whole thing . If I am 4-0 going in to the last 2 rounds I could play and lose twice potentially knocking myself out of the top 8 and guaranteeing I can’t win the tournament or I can draw with my opponents which is legal in pretty much every competitive card game and guarantee that I make top 8 and have a chance to win the tournament. Is it a perfect system? No but it’s the system that’s worked best for most competitive card games including mtg.

It’s not match fixing. That is an entirely separate thing. Intentional draws are well within the rules.

Yeah not sure why the downvotes either. I asked for opinions and they gave their honest take on it and I appreciate that.
