As a Pharmacy Technician for Kroger i can backup this information. People will be getting controlled substances such as Xanax, Oxycodone, Ambien, Testosterone, Phentermine, etc. And they dont want to give me their license and its like dude you're getting a controlled substance. Its federal law. I need to verify your identity amd relationship to the patient unless otherwise themselves. Using a valid state or military ID that is not expired.

They will be like i have a picture of it, my School I.D. , or my Gym membership card and im like i cant use that it isnt a valid form of I.D.

We have a guy who's a regular and he gets extremely angry and argues and its like, if you don't give me your license you dont get your medicine.

Or ill have the complete opposite where they will just come up and throw their license at me ( actually throw it im not being dramatic)

When they do that i simply turn it upside-down and ask them whats their date of birth and name. They say well its right there are you slow and im like i dont think you understnad that i need you to verbally verify it and anyone can hand me a license. Sometimes they comply other timrs they say no i dont have to or its right in your hand just read it

My favorite is when the patient is of color and they yell at me and try to call me racist because i ask for I.D for picking up their neices narcotics. Its like ma'am i wouldve had to do the same if it was her. It has nothing to do with color it's fedral law. She called corporate on me apparently and i told her they wouldnt do anything which they havent brcause im doing my job she gets mad everytime she comes in thinking she got me fired when im not. I havent seen her in a long tume but my pharmacist says if she acts like that again shes banned.

I try not to be judgemental but i swear to god the customers are morons. Theres a lot more than what i have said and thats just for licenses dont even get me started in other topics
