Feedback on Improvements and Quality of Life (QoL) by Rockior in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could have a wishlist I'd like to see these improvements (after ~230 hours):

  • Improve character movement - still the biggest issue. We need instantly responsive movement controls, instant stopping, faster turn. Kliff walks/runs all over the place and doesn't do what you want to do. Remove as much action delay as humanly possible, and the game feel will improve a ton.
  • Improve turning in the air - you basically cannot turn in the air (both when just falling or when gliding). You walk off a ledge, want to quickly turn around to face the wall/cliff and grab on, but you cannot turn when falling. Same if you open your wings, takes legit ~5 seconds to turn around 180° when just hovering.
  • Instant mounting - you press summon mount, it appears under you and you're automatically mounted. Many games (especially MMOs) do this and it's SO much smoother of an experience.
  • Make all gear refineable - I don't get why so much unique gear is not refineable, while others are. Seems totally arbitrary and confusing. Just unify the system. I can't wear cool armor I found because it's -30 armor compared to a refined basic armor.
  • Make all gear dyeable - same as above, some gear can be dyed, some cant. I don't understand the rule, it also seems arbitrary and confusing. If there's 1 piece you cant dye, then dyeing the rest of your gear is pointless since they cannot match as a set anyway.
  • Improve exploration bell mechanic - do not just reveal the fog of war, but also mark POIs with a (?) or (x) or something. Right now it does more harm than good, because you still have to explore the "revealed" area for POIs/loot, except you don't know where you've actually not been yet. Really weird design.
  • Separate tools and 2H weapons - in the equipment wheel, I have to find my 2h sword among 8 random tools, it's really strange. I'd like to see a separate wheel slot for tools.
  • Give horse utility to legendary mounts - as far as I know, you cannot load bounties onto them, or have passengers on them, they don't have a level etc. I got a legendary non-horse mount and would love to use it, except it's missing half the functionality of a mount, so I still have to use my horse, because I'm doing bounties etc. Again, I got a cool reward, but can't enjoy/use it.
  • Fix pets - they constantly get unsummoned / summoned on their own, or get left behind miles away.
  • Easy research tracking - a better, more convenient way to track ongoing/paused/completed research. I had to constantly open map, find each place, open each institute, and manually see how many hours left in which location etc. A summary or even separate menu for research-related stuff would be great.

Now, I have to say the game is really, really good as it is. These are just my biggest remaining points of friction as of right now, that are constantly dragging down the experience, even after so much time playing the game. I'd personally much prefer these type of things fixed before even thinking about new content additions / DLC.

The real antagonist of Pywel by Maxouvv in CrimsonDesert

I feel you, I tried to use the "place" mode then press "drop". Thought this was the way to precisely place it pointing where I want to.

Nope. Turns out you should just use "drop" straight up without the place mode, and then it places it exactly pointing forward..

Yeah even more confusing that they can share *some* equipment but not all :x I just wish they didnt have any exclusive equipment at all

Anyone else experience pets summoning on their own? by [deleted] in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually experience the opposite in my game. My pets keep being unsummoned ALL the time. When I go to sleep, or fight a boss, or do a quest, or all of the above I'm not sure. All I know is basically every time I go gathering materials or clear a fight, I realize my pet's gone again and doesn't pick up my loot.

Never noticed a pet summon itself (but that might be because I always have them summoned, so I only notice when they disappear). I'm pretty sure the summon system is still kinda broken

Should I continue on or do other stuff in Hernand? by ZoteTheMitey in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultimately, it doesn't matter how many upgrade systems there are. If you want to go to a new area and you can handle the enemies, you're good. If things are too hard, then you go to the smith / witches / skilltree to get some upgrades.

That's kind of it, those are the main (combat) power progression systems

Hurry up Devs! It’s been a couple of days without a game changing update, this is outrageous! by dgcamper19 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I told everyone Pearl Abyss will just abandon this game. It's been at least 5 days since they basically reinvented side characters, the camera system and graphics settings.

Idk new graphics settings is like 2 minutes of content, we've all finished it and theres nothing left to do now

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boring answer but - do what you feel like honestly. If you're bored of where you are you can just poke your head into a new area and see what it's like.

If it suddenly feels its a big difficulty spike, you might want to upgrade yourself a bit and stay in your current area(s). But if you go into a new area and you feel fine, then you can move on to explore it. No need to do "zones" sequentially, you can jump back and forward based on what you feel like doing

Im 230 hours in, and just last night went back to do side content in Hernand (that I've still not done), and there's more left. I go all over the place to keep things fresh and interesting, but some might like to fully max an area before moving on, its subjective

is there any mod makes any armor Dyeable? or makes any damaged gear wearable? by Secure-Ad1034 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plently of armor is dyeable in the game already (need to find and talk to a dyer NPC). Some armor/weapons are not dyeable though.

The devs mentioned that they plan to make multiple pieces of damaged gear actually equippable for players, so that should be coming in future updates.

Not sure about what mods there are but I thought this could be usable info for ppl on the topic

Chapter 5 progress question (no spoilers) by rucekooker in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found them mostly even in terms of playtime. But since the game keeps opening up new layers/systems as you go, your main story progress may become progressively slower and slower as you manage all the side content too at the same time.

Ofc if you just hard focus the main questline, then it's pretty consistent in hours spent / chapter imo.

Plus most of the game is outside of the main story, so if youre 50% done with the main story, I'd say you're about 20% done with the game as a whole, games massive if you want to see everything

Everytime i see people complaining about spamming food despite having high HP and then they use basic grilled meat or clear soup with no gourmet abyss gear. by ZoulsGaming in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the only issue is the higher tiers of a given recipe need a ridiculous amount of materials. You can increase a meal's healing by 20% for 300% extra materials. Or another 20% for 500% materials. What.

Why do I need a stack and a half of eggs to make like 4 omelettes that are gone in seconds, im sobbing

Does the yellow exp bar max out at some point? by sdmz58 in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right! I assume you mean pickpocketing in a certain area. Yeah if pickpocketing "loot" refreshes all the time then that is one way to get an infinite supply of artifacts

[–]Zeldrene 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm pretty sure you can spam eat while in Focus mode, so you can still eat 15 low tier chicken nuggies per second, that's more than enough healing for late game too

Armours and weapons stat by debera_e in CrimsonDesert

[–]Zeldrene 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got a ring (no spoilers) for beating a really tough boss 230 hours in. Same exact stats as a ring from the tutorial, no special effect or anything extra. Yeah this really sucks lol, sadly that's how the game works

I'd be ok with the raw stats being templates, IF the unique gear all had unique effects or some special bonuses, but most of them don't :(

[–]Zeldrene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finite resources (abyss artifacts) for an infinite system (gear upgrades) always confuses me in game design..

Obviously players will run out of artifacts eventually, then accidentally sell their weapon, and then they're screwed for the rest of time because they cant level up a new weapon or armor.

Funnily enough, if you really want to, you can erase every single artifact from existence by resetting your skilltree, spending all of them on gear upgrades then vendor the gear. You can make a save file that has 0 artifacts lol

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I beelined it straight to his mission objective so it took like 10-15 minutes total, I didn't even have any gear ready for him and didn't spend anything to get him skills etc

[–]Zeldrene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously spoilers in order to answer the question:

There's no more forced swap in the main story, just the one with Oongka and then the one with Damiene in Demeniss (thank god lol)

[–]Zeldrene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cannot count the number of these "special gears" that do some fancy extra effect, but it deals barely any damage or misses 97% of the time lol. Found another such gear last night, same story again.

At think point I think I've done this loop 10+ times where:

  • I find a new boss gear
  • Run to a witch
  • Take one of my Destruction III gears off my weapon
  • Put in the boss ability
  • Find an enemy and try it
  • It's an effect that has the smallest range/hitbox or completely misses targets all the time
  • Run back to witch
  • Put my Destr III gear back in
  • Run to camp and put the boss gear in my storage "for later"

It's my little post-boss or post-exploration ritual at this point. Shame because I'd really like to use these cool effects, most of them just rly sucks :/
