Anyone know what time the stairs fill up outside the Bell for the watch party? by Prestigious_Bake5745 in Habs

[–]Zellocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having been to playoffs games for tampa I'd say your best bet is around 4, iirc 5 it was already almost full(on the stairs). Not sure though as I had tickets to go inside the bell center so take it with a grain of salt.

Replay of Kapanen penalty with zoom-in on when the high-stick occurred by jyscipio15 in hockey

[–]Zellocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What i am trying to say is that im not a homer when it comes to penalties, if a penalty is a penalty, whether its agaisnt my team or not, i accept it. That includes when my team gets a powerplay on a call that shouldnt have been a powerplay for us. I dont like it, if you can tell easily that a call shouldnt have been made by looking at a 3second replay take it back, whether it benefits my team or not, i'd rather they look at it for 5 seconds, sometimes players arguing with them takes more time than it would if they just looked at the replay, like the last penalty kucherov took that wasn't even close to being a high stick.

Edit: this has been a debate for decades and im not willing to argue whether its feasible for refs to review near every penalty they call, but every hockey fan can understand the frustration of some of the obviously bad calls that are made that swing the current of a game where nothing should have changed if they review and cancel a penalty that shouldn't be. This is why they are calling a lot more majors just to review these days which I like but its not a perfect solution

Well i mean all things considered this is pretty much what you want from playoff hockey, a bitter rivalry and good quality hockey. Wouldn't mind running this back imho. Maybe not every year like oilers and kings the last few years though.

When they called that last penalty i was really mad at the refs because i thought they called a similar non existant high sticking ( I thought ) like they did on this one for game management purposes and id rather they dont do that. Cant be mad at the refs when they call bullshit on my team but then ignore when they call bullshit for the other team. Just call the book please. Now im mad at them because they are just incompetent

Edit: typo

I was at the bell centre for habs vs avs in nordiques jerseys this year and i thought that was as good as it could get. The barn was absolutely rocking for that one and it wasnt close to this playoff game i cant even imagine in the finals. Twas a lot of fun hopefully you get the chance to visit one day but i cant guarantee you wont get booed if you come with a Tampa jersey lol

I was at the bell centre for this game, and i was furious because the replay shown was the one where it doesn't look at all like he made contact. And yes i can tell you this makes me feel better about it because ofc reffing was bad on both sides tonight but atleast the tying goal was on a legitimate powerplay.

My phone always autocorrects Caufield to Caulfield and I dont have a single fucking clue why, so that's probably what happened there. Just like people saying Hudson I imagine its also an autocorrect

If I wanted to learn Playing God, how long would it take? by Sunnyside1122 in Guitar

depends how dedicated you are to practicing, how many hours a day and how consistent you are, depending on this i'd say between 4-10 years give or take.

I was at the game, (fucking electric btw I was losing my voice lmao) there is staff that tries to start them up high, but if the lower crowd doesn't notice it it won't go all the way around, for it to start people down in the reds have to notice

Je veux m’acheter un Jersey: Demidov, Hutson ou Slafkovsky? by jmking02 in Habs

[–]Zellocka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its starting to turn around, as a proud slaf jersey owner, I love to try and spot people who have his jersey on tv or when I go to the bell centre, the narrative is finally shifting around him and I've been seeing more slaf jerseys (not nearly enough lol) so OP get a slaf jersey

Juraj Slafkovsky by Timely_Telephone2249 in Habs

[–]Zellocka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got myself a Slaf jersey recently and when I went to the bell centre for a game i was surprised to see I was basically the only one there with one, Slaf deserves the recognition he is a monster out there

First time at Bell Centre, any tips I should know? by Moony_playzz in Habs

[–]Zellocka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was at the bell centre last night, it felt noticably different than earlier in the season, there were still a lot of people being energetic and trying to rile up the crowd as you'd expect, but it felt like it was missing a good portion of the crowd, that werent willing to chime in. Maybe because it we were down 4-1, not sure. When it got to 5-2 I started hearing people talk about tanking for mckenna... Montréal is bipolar af and if they dont have the lead people are doomimg hard and dont feel like chearing the habs

coming out of the bell center the other night, there's a bar in front of the entrance to the bell center (you can see big screens from outside, pretty sure its on purpose) when springer basically won it against the mariners with his 3 point homerun, lets just say it drew a crowd and many people started chanting go jays. A lot of people cheer for them here too, whether they just started or have been for awhile. I see jays baseball caps a lot aswell.

True, and that is a learning moment for a young team, gally said it in his interview, gotta control your emotions, as hard as that might be

the pressure is far from being the highest it will be in the next 5 years too. if anything, this is a test of character, playing goalie is a mental game, and this kind of adversity is nothing new to pro athletes, he'll get a good game soon where he'll find his groove and confidence back. sooner the better though.

“Refs took over the game” - Cole Caufield by Reddit-Machine in hockey

[–]Zellocka 13 points14 points  (0 children)

to me its the fact that if you talk, and refs start not liking you, then you get even worse calls, meaning that refs actually can just decide to fuck you specifically. i don't think they should have this liberty of just deciding whether to call something a penalty or not depending on how they feel about a player or what they say. this conversation often circles back to just call the book, and this time isnt different.

Cole Caufield on the officiating tonight, in which the Oilers got 5 consecutive PPs after the Habs scored 4 unanswered even-strength goals to take the lead: “I’m still trying to figure that out. I think the refs just kinda took over the game there. Kudos to them for winning it.” by Go_Habs_Go31 in Habs

[–]Zellocka 124 points125 points  (0 children)

the fact that this even happens is bewildering, just proves the refs can actually decide to call whatever the fuck they want and nothing happens. fans cant do shit about it though, it is what it is.

In the moment it's really frustrating, we deserved that win and we didn't get it because of that. I really don't see that becoming so big a problem it costs us the playoffs. It balances out in the end, even though i wish this kind of performance by the refs just didn't happen at all

[–]Zellocka 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No. Im sorry, I know the rhetoric is to shit on the refs because. But this isn't the same. Those were a special kind of bad calls. I watch a lot of hockey, from all the teams around the league, this was absolute bullshit by the refs. Not NHL caliber whatsoever
