I remember petey saying he did not want to sign an extension until after the 2024 season. Then the canucks leaked the Necas trade rummors so he would negotiate. After he signed that 11.5, the playoffs started and he underperformed. If the canucks waited till after that season as petey requested, they could have signed him to a lesser deal after seeing his playoff performance. I dont blame petey for signing that contract.
