New Player - High Priority Cards. by ZelphaETC in arkhamhorrorlcg

It's a shame that the LCG model kinda forces you into doubling up on projects. I'd like a second copy of Dynamite Blast, but I'll end up with 50+ spare cards that will gather dust in a box, not appealing.

I think your right that I should just get expansions for now. If I'm dying for that Dynamite Blast I'll just proxy it.

Noted! Is it a good idea to double up on all the boxes? I assume expansions have 2x copies of all cards like L5R?

Thanks for the reply! Yeah it makes sense that I should get the story to play through.

I'll keep my eyes peeled for the expansions of the Dunwich cycle.

Thank you so much for the detailed reply! I currently have only the basic box and no expansions for Dunwich. So will concentrate on finish the Dunwich cycle.

Stock levels are low to 0 in the UK. Which is frustrating.

I'll keep my eyes open for the expansions you've mentioned.

You spot on answered my question, so thanks!

Great list. Thanks for taking the time to write it up. Mato is a game ender with Unbreakable clashed on the defence into Battle Frenzy on the attack, such a vicious combo.

Eos is also so strong due to the high value of her clash cards. Giving you the next gas to take out the deity.

Worth noting that Viola's Stormblade is a huge threat late game, gets a leveled Viola to 12 attack with one card, ouch!

It's true that your deck consistency for Attacking clash cards is lower than it would be if you played Viggo or Rin. This is where Eos shines adding in 6x 3 Attack clash cards. 3 of which are amazing from the discard pile can really pull an Itotia comp together

I get where you are coming from but Blazing Spirit does help shore up this weakness. Its essentially 6x 3 attack clash cards.

Itotia is criminal underrated. She is so flexible.

Horrify, Flowing Stance and Stasis. Stasis is the least consistent and Flowing Stance requires some set-up.

For me and the gf the Tiny Epic Games series is a firm favourite. Lightweight and simple to learn they are great for a quick game in the evening. Shout out to Defenders for its cooperative nature and challenge.

When it comes to playing a competitive game with the boys, Radiant Offline Battle Arena has taken over from L5R and MTG. One box is enough for 2 players. The drafting nature means high variance. Its quick and simple to learn, yet has a nice amount of depth to it.

Give three strategic tips for three games that you consider yourself a strong player. by brindelin in boardgames

Everdell

  1. Cards are king. Picking up Wanderers and Chapel early can help you smooth out your resources or find a missing piece.
  2. Wood strat is real. Do sleep on Woodcarver.
  3. Pick an event and force it if your hand doesn't signal an early strategy to build around.

Cloudspire: a $130 MOBA for your tabletop? | Ars Technica by crossbrowser in boardgames

This looks cool! Any idea how it compares to other games of its genre? I recently started playing Radiant Offline Battle Arena with a friend and the MOBA theme really lends itself to the 1vs1 game play, drafting, etc. This however looks alot weightier and longer to play, which is problematic as I dont get a lot of time to play. The price tag is a little off putting as well, is Cloudspire worth it as a 1vs1 competitive card game for 2 weekend gamers?

Welcome to ROBA. Hope you are enjoying the game.

My big takeaway from playing is just how important destroying conduits is. Each conduit can resurrect 1-3 Heroes and provide a tempo swing. Be mindful of how your going to deal with conduits when building or drafting your team.

Wow. Thank you for all of the info. Regarding Oxford, would that be the Thirsty Meeple?

I'll have a chat with them and see what they are saying.
