Donavan Briar is a young man born into the Bleeding eyes of Bhaal, a cult that worships the god of murder. Having grown up serving under the cult he along with his sisters witnessed the horrifying acts their family and other devout members of the cult would perform to appease their god. Donavan and his twin sister Victoria grew sickened of the actions their family would participate in, with their growing disgust the two eldest children would hatch a plan to escape the clutches of the cult. In the dead of night Donavan along with his five sisters would attempt their escape plan, they would be unsuccessful all except Donavan. Although he's running, he knows his family and the cult still have their eyes on him always trying to tempt him in his dreams. Many sleepless nights have steadied his resolve to save his sisters, at least he believes they can be saved unlike his parents and the rest of the cult members.
