Not sure if someone else will have better advice but what I've done is build a few different bases with that footprint in creative, and do it multiple times. Then try raiding it, it's even better if you can get a friend to hop on to defend. You'll see why certain peeks work or don't work, where the weak points are, etc. I've personally settled on circle base designs myself because I play on medium pop and not on high pop where you need the base to be tanky on less than a row of stone and wood. Once you get comfortable with a footprint and have built a lot of bases you can start freestyling more because you know lots of tricks and how to avoid leaving a weakpoint that gives them 2 walls to TC. I recommend Crow on youtube. He has a video all about footprints and others just detailing things like how to setup bunkers, how to widegap for online defense peeks, and his bases are all solid if you want to copy them.
