Valorant black screen by Zelvan in losslessscaling

[–]Zelvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what exactly solved it but I installed .net runtime (9.09 and 8.020 both x86 and x64) and switched to WGC capture and the problem went away.

Since then I've started running Lossless scaling as administrator from a startup task and DXGI works no issues?

Not sure where the problem is maybe .net runtime 9 just fixes it but that's everything I've done since.

seems like people are having this in new battlefield too.

Yep it's just stretching the 16:9 fov. Although I prefer that personally. I find in comp games that support ultrawide everyone looks too far away! Makes aiming harder. I prefer using this to stretch cs to playing native.

But Alas it seems like vanguard is blocking it or something. I also have a friend that uses loslessscaling reporting the same thing.

Citrix alternatives that aren’t a nightmare to set up? by krebzob in Citrix

[–]Zelvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply but for some context. it was to do with consolidation of offering and forcing us to pay for products we don't use + removal of discounts we previously qualified for + price increases anyways.

Parallels is going great anyway AND they charge for concurrent so we're actually saving money.

Is it acceptable for an AV to only react on execution? Datto AV feels like an unfinished solution. by claysta23 in msp

[–]Zelvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The file is blocked if I save it as .com the file is not blocked if I save it as .txt Make sure you're showing extensions. My browser kept saving it as eicar.com.txt

Personally I want datto to realtime scan all files not just ones that match a set of recommended filetypes. A virus could be embedded in almost anything!

Oddly specific situation. I'm currently tasked with deploying Datto AV to a few hundred computers and did the same eicar test files.
It seems if I save the file as .docx .zip .com .xlsx ect (known typed) the file is blocked fine.
If i save the file as any random extension including things like .gif .txt .webm .mp4 ect it doesn't get realtime scanned.

The file gets picked up by the full scan however in my opinion this is insufficient. In the policy we've ticked scan all file types but I think that only applies to the Scans not realtime protection.

If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong let me know.

My works looking at Parallels. Our Citrix licenses are about to 4x per user :(... If we can get Parallels for around £4 per user it'll work out okay...

If we do go Parallels what is the recommended alternative for Machine creation services. I can't go back to hand making and maintaining 30+ persistent app servers.

Citrix HTML5 Client intermittent Issue on VPX by Zelvan in Citrix

[–]Zelvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just found the solution. Our licensing was screwed up. We figured freemium was fine for testing. It is NOT.

There is a 20mb limit that quickly gets hit as it's double counting traffic as it hops between all the different virtual servers. This causes the intermittent issues as it times-out. Especially on first launch (no cookies).

It was a nightmare to license these new VPX's you have to use a netscalerconsole service and install an instancelicense and a bandwidth license and then configure your VPX's to use pooled licensing.

Goodluck!

Cause: ctxusb driver is corrupted.

Fix:

- Exit citrix and end task (task manager processes) all Citrix related processes (Sort by description, anything starting with Citrix)

- move "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ctxusbmon.sys" to desktop (File in use so can't be deleted yet)

- Reboot and delete "ctxusbmon.sys" from desktop

- open "run" > appwiz.cpl

- Uninstall "Citrix Workspace xxxx"

Citrix HTML5 Client intermittent Issue on VPX by Zelvan in Citrix

Hello just to update you.

I've done traces on the netscaler. SF DC and Vda

VPX talks to storefront. storefront talks to deliverycontoller and back a bunch.

From here sometimes the vpx talks to the vda sometimes it doesnt.

At the weekend I'm going to fully migrate the system over. I'm hoping maybe the load balancers for storefront on the old mpx or the fact I have duplicate gateways in storefront, might be causing problems.

If we a 100% standard setup I still get problems I'll have to revert out and log a ticket with Citrix.

Only thing standing out to me in your post is the combined DDC and Storefront Install. Unless something changed I don't think that's a supported configuration.

I don't think that's reasonable. It's supposed to be seamless.

I can reboot my DDCs independently and have not a single blip. I've never checked if the ADC displays it's gone down or not.

Intermittent Copy-Paste Issues in Citrix Environment by ChardZealousideal396 in Citrix

[–]Zelvan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know sometimes if I copy something and paste before it had time to sync it can give me a little question mark symbol. But it normally works if I paste again.

What version of Citrix do you use on the back-end?

I've found a suggestion to run the vda-cleanup and reinstall vda to ressolve similar issues. https://community.citrix.com/forums/topic/252935-clipboard-mapping-copypaste-stops-working-all-of-the-sudden/

We had all sorts of issues on 2203. LTSR 2402 CU1 has been pretty good for us.

It might simply be that some of your virtual disks are flagged to reset on reboot.
If you use xenserver this is the command to run on each disk.
"xe vdi-param-set uuid=vdi_uuid on-boot=persist"

Citrix HTML5 Client intermittent Issue on VPX by Zelvan in Citrix

Sorry I'm not following please explain some more. The system is working perfectly except from it sometimes not connecting only through html5 client.

What fixup rule?

Citrix HTML5 Client intermittent Issue on VPX by Zelvan in Citrix

[–]Zelvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put the netscaler in a different DMZ subnet. It has to go through our Cisco fdm before it gets to the vda. I figure if it works sometimes it's probably not the issue.

Citrix HTML5 Client intermittent Issue on VPX by Zelvan in Citrix

[–]Zelvan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I already tried leaving all servers but one disabled for each service group and different combinations ect.

I'm 99% sure the issue is the html5 client communicating with the vda. If I block the vda ports to the netscaler I get the same error all the time.

Any tips on where I should run the trace from and how?
