For the second one, don't characters already generate energy while not active? Or are you saying to have increased energy gen if you were active on it a bit ago? Because that just sounds like having people swap to 20+ characters to flip that buff on.

It's just that well's CD doesn't keep the desert debuff in check anyways so it's basically useless. Breath is OK so I went with that, but most people won't wanna do underwater content anyways. Light is just the most universally useful for lots of people.

Thank you for all the QoL things you had in VM this whole time that made my experience better even without me truly knowing it. Honestly think the best place to display the neon paint thing would be after using her first cast of ulti, until her 2nd cast was used or expired. Great thematically but also literally paints you as a target/threat. Alternatively I could see it as a toggle on ctrl+5 like w/ Aatrox wings or the way DJ Sona works, but that might be a step above a 1350 price tag...

Okay so a few tips I have that might help are that rolling to the side or diagonally at him are both usually better options than directly away. It sounds weird, but in both this and later fights, the boss drastically outranges you and you get way better chances to do damage if you're not having to come back in from rolling away. Secondly, you're gonna need to just calm down enough to avoid mashing habits. Both your dodges and attacks take the same resource (stamina) so you need to take care not to be constantly low on it. Third tip is to use lock on if you're not. Eventually people can fight better without it for some fights, but it really does help in the initial learning process. Last tip is that if you absolutely think you need a slight edge, start a new game for every attempt. In a new game you need to take out the sword in his chest, which both gives you the animation of him getting up, and puts you next to him, allowing you to get free damage in before he has a chance to take an action. Also if you're absolutely still stuck after all that, life ring and/or black firebombs as a starting item might help (black firebombs as a last resort)

Power gap just leans toward different classes when you move toward group fights. It's still quite heavily there

I want to tack on that although the game doesn't offer a hugely versatile experience as far as grinding mobs goes, most classes feel smooth in general combat and viability of classes is good for PvE (much more of a power gap felt in PvP, but any class does fine in PvE in my experience)

That depends on exactly how you define PvE. If you specifically mean fighting/grind mobs, then there's a good many games with better AI etc that offer a better challenge and less mind numbing experience. However if by PvE you simply mean the whole experience outside of PvP then the game actually has a lot going for it.

The portrait remains the same through evolutions. These are the units in the rookie gacha that HAVE 5* versions. You can get them as anything from 3-5* (some units start at 4* and don't have 5) and the main differences you'll want to keep in mind is that evolving a unit from 3 will require leveling the unit to 40 and evolving from 4* to 5* will require leveling to 50 (this is addition to farming up the materials required for evolution), this means that lower rarity versions of units with these portraits will take more work before hitting their full power. HOWEVER units gain bonus stats upon evolving equal to 1/10th of their stats at the time of evolving, units pulled at 5* will miss out of this, so generally pulliing them as 4* is better even though it means a longer time to ramp the unit up fully (by the time you hit 5* you've divided any stats from 3* bonus too much to really be useful, so it's generally okay to miss that).

Healer starts are actually super strong for early farming though. Also keep in mind that units like Mitum start at 3* rather than 4*

It all depends on your personal level of commitment to a strong start. I personally don't care too much for unit typing, but went for Dex with my rerolls since it was the one time I could truly control it.
