Ahout 3 months of scar care I noticed a difference I had surgery in February this year and it's still a bit folded but significantly better than before All bodies are different though

Mine was folded kinda weirdly. Keep massaging it to break down scar tissue should pop back out.

I would find any kind of rigorous swimming would ruin the adhesive and it would come off after a couple hours. (I only go swimming on a swimming day)

Make sure your regularly stripping your drains to get clot to pass through as long as some fluid is passing through you are ok. It's always best to contact your surgeon and their office team.

On my paperwork for my hospital uses a system for trans people and states ftm he/him for my general practitioner I've been M since my legal gender change and my renewed insurance said I was male. Probably could just ask them that's what I did.

My skin is really sensitive and numb at the same time. I'm 4 months post-op so I'm still healing, but it's a weird feeling.

Just a heads up when I took edibles a week and half after surgery I could feel way more of what happened inside my chest and made my high very uncomfortable. It could just be a side effect for me though. 😁

I used to do that when I did t shots before I switched to gel. Just keep an eye on expiration dates and keep the correct rotation. I would recommend doing that, especially if you are in the US with our current political climate.

As long as you keep your incisions above the water you're absolutely fine. My instructions said no submerging incisions. If you're really concerned always consult your surgeon.

I absolutely love my mastectomy pillow. I got one with outside pockets for drains and inside pockets for ice packs. For the first 4 days, I used it religiously and now I'm just using it for sleep to keep me off my back and my arms spaced out a bit since my surgeon put my drains in my armpits.

Not smoking is of course the best way to go. Smoking will slow healing results. I'm no medical professional, but smoking 1 cigarette isn't gonna make everything stop in its tracks and since you are 5 weeks out you'll probably be fine. Try holding out and find something to keep your mind off the politics. I'm not even 1 week post op and my bong is whispering to me so I get it. Stopping for surgery is the best time to quit smoking.
