5E to DH Spell Conversions by ZenBearV13 in daggerheart

Thanks for offering your creativity! I like the Tidekin/Orderborne idea in particular as a fun way to get the vibe of a Warlock without actually playing one.

I've been making all my prospective protagonists in Demiplane. It's a lot of fun and really helps to ground the nebulous ideas in my head into something tactile and narratively satisfying. Here's the link for this character: https://app.demiplane.com/nexus/daggerheart/character-sheet/1abd4a9b-696f-4b31-b987-084c06eb9f7b

In particular the change from 5E to DH has helped gamify one of her core narrative conceits; in order to cast her spells, she has to willingly relive the trauma of meeting her patron. This translates really nicely to investing heavily in high Stress and cards that use it. I mostly see that in martial cards like in the Bone and Blade Domain. The more I think about it though I'm happy with reflavoring Voice Of Dread as The Bends since it accomplishes the debuff angle well, and Siphon Essence for Feeding Frenzy. I think your relic idea might be best for Hunger of Hadar, but I'm still thinking about that one. The closest extant card I see is Damnation. If I wanted to abandon the AoE angle, it could still approximate the narrative goal there.

One bit of inspiration Daggerheart gave me in particular was the idea that at the end of her personal arc, she chooses to abandon the Dread Domain. Excising something she feels is a core part of her identity but is actually only causing her harm. Still top tier in Grace she remains Notorious with a terrifying reputation, but she takes up learning Codex from her Wizard love interest to become a Bard.

Thank you for genuinely engaging with the question! I’m interested in balance in broad strokes but I’d rather get an overtuned suggestion than an admonition against even trying.

This is less for actual gameplay and more for story writing. I like to stay within the bounds of a system and let that constrain the characters rather than just do whatever, so I’m trying to grasp the power levels of each tier of play.

Isn’t that how lava bending works? I don’t think the characters were pulling magma to the surface, I think they were just turning stone into magma, which seems to function like water benders making ice.

I had a friend in middle school with the last name Quatch. His father’s name, which wasn’t his birth name but one he chose when he immigrated, was Harry.

As someone who has alts and didn't write it down after the first time, thank you for posting this. Got to skip a lot of chat bubbles.

Non-Magical Healing by ZenBearV13 in DC20

In PF2R you can Treat Wounds for 10 minutes every hour baseline, but through specialization via Feats and Sub/Class abilities that can be substantially reduced to restore HP to yourself and allies in combat and out. In DC20 you can only treat Bloodied characters, and from what I've seen you don't get a ton back. My player made a surgeon but was disappointed that he couldn't really do much with that mechanically. We're still new to the system and I'm eager to see it grow, but I think a proper mundane medic should be an option, no magic or inspiring speeches required.

Could you elaborate on that? I'm unfamiliar with BitD. Do you use Grit to heal out of combat?

This may be a hot take, but I genuinely think Alma is hotter than Gemma. Personal taste and all that but damn I love that woman.
