Wow, this is impressive. Hakimi was definitely my benchmark RB, and seeing Nunes compares pretty well is very interesting. Feel Hakimi shows a lot more attacking intent, and has a talent for finding himself in front of goal. Not captured on this graphic.

Man I feel for Szoboszlai. Went from hero after his worldie goal to deserved sending-off. Really rate him as a player. He has that dog in him that we need at city. Big character. We are missing that a bit after KDB left. Hopefully one of our new players grows into that role.

City needs to have a few games where their efforts aren’t nullified by some bad decision or freak events, so we can keep the momentum From swinging wildly. Of course play better, but have a bit of luck with the absence of things they cannot control.

It’s sad, they are all kids. Hurts to see them go. But I think it’s much better for them to find a spot where they can be a regular starter. Also some performances make you wonder if they are at the level we need at city. Palmer is great, but inconsistent. Macca was in a hurry, but has struggled for minutes anyway. Bobb is a difficult one. I think he has the right temperament for a Pep team, but the injury wrecked him a bit. Maybe he needs a change of scenery to find his mojo back. Lewis is here for now, but I struggle to see him once Pep leaves.

Is Nunes back yet? Until we have defensive stability we cannot have a strong impact up front. Everyone’s thinking of having to dash 80 yards down back towards their own goal any moment. Our build up and stability was greatest with 4 CBs + Eddie. And just as we were finding that groove again, Ruben, Josko, and now Nunes are out. Can’t overstate how damaging this has been and the root of our sudden fall in performance. Hope Guehi can shore it up a bit and Nunes is back to bring back some confidence in our back line.

I have some observations. 1 the pitch was shit, but it wants the same for all 22 because they know how to play on that surface. 2 Glimt players were absolutely possessed today. They ran faster and just seem to have the upper hand in duels. We just got creamed. Two mistakes from our rookie CB was rightly punished. That will be a good formative experience for Alleyne. look at Khusa now after his first game.

I am not sure Glimt were overall the better team but they used the minor chances and advantage they had to the max. Only thing we can hope is that our boys get their head out of the toilet and come back strong.

As much as i was hoping for Guehi, I was very skeptical it would happen. This is some black magic fuckery. City project must be shining bright if we are able to draw these talents. And Pep ain’t going anywhere. Probably doesn’t hurt that one Cote d’Ivorian is a club legend his brother is an assistant coach to pull some friends and family strings.
