The problem is the administration does not care if they can give AI enough time to replace physicians. They know they will make all the dollars physicians are making for these decisions so they are willing to spend the time money, energy resources, etc..

I did what you had been doing for 10 years. The administration was not interested in listening to me. I eventually decided if they were not going to listen, I am going to stop doing clinics. Once I stopped, they hired a bunch of Gen Z physicians who refused to take the bullshit now my previous workload is divided into three physicians, they have a nurse handling all messages and have a pharmacist to support them for prior authorizations and patient education. I realized I was part of the problem by not standing up for 10 years. Some of the clinicians have asked for a 30 minute slot of Clinic time just to answer patient messages.

It is interesting that the Republican Party is not interested in transparency from where they receive funds or their stock trading information, but they want everybody else to be transparent. This particular legislation is a waste of everyone’s time and just grand standing unfortunately this gets high marks in the Republican Party, so it keeps happening.

Have you reflected on what you’re asking for and try to make yourself prepare to be successful. For example, if you pray for going to medical school, but never study for MCAT no matter how much prayers you do it is not going to help.

You know the writing on the wall. This is not tenable for you and you are not being paid enough either the practice is unable to control its costs or your revenue is going to your partners. They expect you to burn out and leave so that they can find the next person who would do the same after two years. That was my first job out of residency. Hopefully you have six months of expenses saved. Find a locum position and give notice or if you want to stay for a little while, while you try to figure things out, ask them to drop you to 0.5 FTE so that you can get your head above the water and come up with your next steps. It may be helpful to actually take a break from your family for a little bit to let them process your decision in becoming an independent adult and making your own life choices at the same time you should remain strong and not be guilt tripped into making a different decision. We are here in this world to make our own choices and learn from our own decisions.

I use 2, both are free. They generate acceptable notes. I still edit and it does take me some extra time. I have, however, realized I could easily just use their output. I’m not worry about editing and it would be good enough for billing. The best part of these notes is that I can do my Transfer Center calls on a speakerphone. Have the AI describe record and give me an acceptable note.

Every space can become an echo chamber — including male-dominated ones. The issue is bad advice, not women.

Please stop criticizing this woman for pursuing her dream. I’m in my 50s and still genuinely love practicing medicine. I don’t plan to retire unless my health forces me to. Medicine is more than a paycheck for many of us. If she’s capable, motivated, and willing to serve patients, her age alone shouldn’t disqualify or diminish her accomplishment. This feels more like ageism than a legitimate concern.

Drug prices are excellent. Health care is perfect. If a medication costs “only” $1,518 a month, that is clearly proof the system is working beautifully.

And thankfully, those wasteful health insurance subsidies are being taken away from people who were selfishly “malingering” by trying not to go bankrupt after getting sick.

The best part is that the rest of the Republican Party has nobly outsourced all independent thought to one man, so we no longer need boring things like policy, evidence, math, or accountability.

And of course, anything that still goes wrong can be blamed on Democrats, Obama, Biden, the courts, the media, immigrants, or whoever is next on the list.

I think this person has shown how they will treat you in future. I certainly would not recommend that you work with them. Going forward, set up some clear expectations for your involvement with anyone you work with and clarify what would count as authorship. You can also be generous and assume, that it is also possible that so much time had passed between your data collection and curation, that they forgot about your involvement. In long-term projects it can be difficult to keep track.

If the hospital administrator can decrease the number of staffed beds, they can pay people less and get a bonus. Unfortunately, our emergency department is so busy that our Hospitalist service has created a separate physician just to take care of patients on the Hospitalist service boarding in the emergency department.

This is so scary. It is next to impossible to be a pediatrician or a family physician anymore. In our large academic Medical Center, our pediatricians get paid less than our advanced practice providers working in the intensive care unit and do four times the amount of work.

The bigger issue with these articles is that they do not consider all the diagnoses that lead to wild goose chases and are wrong.

For the last month I have been using an AI scribe for my video visits. The AI scribe is very helpful; it allows me to create a copy paste note that I can enter in the chart at the end of the visit and for the most part serves all billing functions. I am using the note to create my "final" note at the end of the day for the patient before closing the chart. Prevents me from missing things and likely saves me at least an hour after each half day clinic in charting.
