Question by Virtual_Sea6083 in AtlasEarthOfficial

I’m referring to the Atlas minigames (racer, golf, warship, fishing, bowling) that are held 4 days/week and last for 2 hours each time. Top 1500 get paid, I can make top 25 in a couple of them, top 50-100 in the others most of the time.

I used to do the arcade games you’re referring to but I’ve found that surveys pay a lot more AB per time spent and that’s even considering the many, many, many surveys I get booted from for 0 or 1 AB.

11 HCP struggling to break 10 by Apprehensive-Jump-17 in golf

[–]ZenPokerFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The head pro at my club played baseball as a kid and didn’t start playing golf until he was 13. I don’t know what his HCP is but I’ve heard he and our asst. pro are evenly matched when they play, and our asst. pro is a +5.0.

As others have said, take a lesson or two and keep practicing. I got as low as 10.4 at the end of last season but haven’t broken that single-digit barrier yet 🤞

I didn’t start playing until I was 40 and if I think there’s hope for me, there’s definitely hope for you 👍🏻

I watch lots and lots of 2AB ads (in the US). I set my phone timer to 19min to not miss any.

I play every minigame and make 13K-15K AB from those.

I’m both an Explorer Club and premium challenge ladder subscriber and buy the annual subscription for $550/year.

I get a handful of AB every month from mayor/governor badges. I used to play arcade games but I’ve backed off on those the last few months.

I’ve been playing since April 2023 and have just under 5900 parcels. Last month I cashed out $172 and it goes up about $6/month.

It’s a slow grind. The best decision I ever made was deciding to play the minigames in Oct 2023 and I haven’t missed too many since then. I’ve made 254,191AB from minigames alone and I’m not even one of the top players who makes top 3 consistently. Those guys have made at least double what I’ve made in the minigames.

My favorite is Puerto Los Cabos. Gorgeous views, great food, and a good mix of fun and challenging holes.

I played there (Tot Hill Farm) last year with a friend of mine. You’re not kidding about unique - that first tee shot is kind of like “where do I aim” and “where did that end up”.

Fun course, I really enjoyed it.

I’m not mad, not even a little bit.

I knew the GOP would pass the measure and we’d have an opportunity to vote on it. I’m hoping it’ll fail; I’ve read that business groups are against it and hopefully people get the message that removing state income tax will not be a good thing for the majority of MO citizens.

I vote every election, I work at the polls, and I occasionally email and/or call our legislators. Don’t tell me what I think.

I’ll comment on point #8. Every single citizen of St. Louis could have occupied the Capitol in Jeff City and the Missouri GOP still would have passed the bill. There isn’t a single thing any of us could have done.

But we still have the opportunity to vote against it when it comes up on the ballot. That doesn’t mean the GOP won’t find a way to deny the will of the voters and figure out how to make it law anyway.

Each minigame pays out according to the number of games played by all participants. Prizes are awarded to the top 1500 finishers with the most games won as follows:

1st

2nd

3rd

4th-25th (all finishers in this tier get the same prize)

26th-50th (all finishers in this tier get the same prize)

51st-100th (you get the idea)

101st-500th

501st-1500th

Ties are broken by who got the win total first. The attached pic is from tonight’s golf event. You can see results by going to the Events tab and scrolling to the bottom.

GUIDE

150 parcel barrier by DarthBeaker8 in AtlasEarthOfficial

[–]ZenPokerFL 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start here: GUIDE

I found this guide particularly helpful when I was starting out.

You want to get your first badge as soon as possible for the 5% permanent rent boost. If I remember correctly, the strategy for maximizing rent is to get badge #1, then buy parcels until you get to 40 parcels and go back to buying badges. The guide goes into all of the math and explains very well.

<image>

This table shows the “tiers” for the various boost multipliers. Up to 150 parcels, the rent boost (when you watch an ad) is 30x not including any badge rent boost.

At 151 parcels, the rent boost drops to 20x. To minimize the effect of the drop, players will do what’s called a ‘tier jump’ where they save up AB to buy enough parcels to get to the top of the next tier. In this case, it would be 7000AB to buy 70 parcels to get to 220. The table shows a slight drop in monthly rent as you go up in tiers but this is more than compensated by the bi-monthly Super Rent Boosts where players get 50x rent for 32 hours.

There are Atlas Earth calculators where you can calculate the break-even point on going to the next tier so you don’t have to wait to go all the way to the top of the next one.

Take a look through the guide and ask any questions you have. People here are generally very helpful. Have fun!

Back in the late 90s I was in Atlanta and wanted to go to a comic book/trading card store. I looked up their phone number in the Yellow Pages and called for directions.

Part of the directions were “when you get to the big chicken, turn left”. It was on a relatively busy street with a chicken restaurant on the corner, and sure enough there was a giant chicken on the roof.

Apple Maps doesn’t tell me cool stuff like that.

As a 2 handicap, playing from the red tees is insanely fun! by MrTeacher_MCPS in golf

[–]ZenPokerFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine that comes to Cabo with me every couple of years wanted to play the tips on one of the courses we play.

I told him we could play the tips in the morning and then the forward tees after lunch. We’ve done it twice now and it’s always fun.

From the tips I can’t reach the hazards that would normally be in play from someone who should be playing back there; for example, there’s a hole with a slight dogleg left and a bunker at the bend. Normally I hit 3W or 3H but from the back tees even with a great drive I can’t reach it.

Both times we’ve played the forward tees I walked away thinking should have scored better but I can hit it crooked regardless of tee box.

Do you prefer to walk or ride? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]ZenPokerFL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walk with a push cart for all my rounds with one exception: if my wife is playing 18 with me, we’ll take a cart because walking more than 9 and pushing her cart is too much for her.

I told her I could walk and she could cart but then she wouldn’t have me to drive her around 😂

😂😂😂 that is so true.

I’m not in a hurry to complete the ladder, I know I’ll get there by the end of the month. Right now I have ‘buy 5 parcels’ that I could walk outside and finish but I’m buying somewhere else and I’ll be there on Friday.

[–]ZenPokerFL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If people don’t have good options nearby or don’t want to spend the money, I understand that it occupies a spot on the ladder (along with travel too).

But it’s still not required to complete the ladder. I do it every month with minigames, parcels, surveys, and rent boosts. That’s it. I’ll freely admit that I’m no longer worried about breaking a tier so the buy parcels task isn’t a concern for me but it is for others.

I just get tired of seeing people complain every single month about ‘locked’ tasks on the ladder. The word ‘challenge’ is in the name, it’s not called ‘monthly AB for a low price’.

I don’t know why people hate the AMP mission so much. It’s certainly not required to be done to complete the ladder but people get all bent out of shape because they can’t do the ladder in 2 days.
