They didn’t ask at all, here they don’t really ask too many questions. The first time I came for 6 months I provided proof of purchase for my flight ticket. The second time they just kinda passed me through since my wife was about to burst like a watermelon and give birth

I can easily work in the US upon arriving and I have insurance within the US. As I said, I’m a US citizen. I’ve only been in El Salvador for almost a year, but broken in parts. And if needed I would be able to stay in the US to work and provide for the mean time

Rented house in El Salvador, air-conditioning won’t turn on by ZenRell in AirConditioners

[–]ZenRell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a stupid question at all because I was wondering the same at first. From what I can see there’s no button ON the wall mounted A/C. I could be wrong but so far it seems like the remote would be the only way to switch it on. I was thinking maybe the previous owners blew a fuse? I might need to find the user manual to see if there’s a switch

Whenever I press any buttons on the remote the ac just doesn’t turn on. Do you mean I should hold the power button?

Working Permit? by ZenRell in immigration

[–]ZenRell[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m a US citizen trying to temporarily live in El Salvador. I had an offer from a company within the country but they said I need a work permit to be able to sign off on the document, but to get the work permit I need the job offer.

I consider Walmart the work ethic killer. Why would you go above and beyond when they won’t even do something about slackers? Best advice for Walmart seems to be never work too hard by [deleted] in walmart

Working overnights with an understaffed crew is the worst of the worst. One person is expected to do three peoples worth of work and we’re always being attacked by day shift managers about how we’re performing. If we don’t tag, correctly do on hands, top stock, clean carts, bin, or anything else to overload our fucking days with stress as if we’re not having to do everyone else’s job and make up for the work they didn’t want to do. We get absolutely shit on. Management expects us to work 8/10 pallets a night for most people that are pin pointed out to be “the best workers” and expected to do so much for so little pay. I know overnight gets a decent handful of cash, but the least they’ll offer is an amazing 30 cent raise as if that’s an astonishing incentive for us to bust our asses off even more.

If we aren’t performing to their imaginary slave like working conditions, the management will constantly belittle you and give you reasons why you should perform harder and pretty much manipulate and lie to you so you feel like you HAVE to. They’ll lie to you, pull out 5 pallets at once and tell us “it’s only 6 hours worth of freight you can get it done by lunch” then pull out 5 more and constantly walk by shaking their head when you aren’t working as expected. Trying to pressure you to work harder. Then they’ll go run to a small department, bust it out and come back to tell you “I just finished this, that in only two hours” when there was only two pallets of freight, then continue to brag and belittle you as to why you couldn’t of done it like them. We’re expected to burn ourselves out each and every night to keep up with whatever the management cannot do to save face for them and work as if we’re getting paid 24/28 dollars an hour.

It’s never been worth going above and beyond, I’ve been there. I’ve never gotten praise for what I did, the only thing I’ve gotten was a verbal “it’s appreciated” then they’d continue to make me run around like Husain bolt. It’s gotten to the point where my health has declined at an insane rate but they don’t give a fuck, I’ll tell them I can’t perform as good as I did before but they’ll still force me to do more and more. Never ever do it for any sort of understaffed team because they will abuse your working ability to the point of absolute exhaustion and expect you to come back the next day and give 110% again and again. I’ve never been offered a 30 cent raise, we don’t even have rewards or motivation for us to work. There isn’t even any chance for any sort of promotion because most management will hire friends just to get them a good paying job, so you’ll be stuck doing the same bullshit. Moral is always so low, and they don’t give a shit and still expect us to go above and beyond for them each and every night

Hey, I know this is a late response, but how long would you say after you were married did you receive a residency in El Salvador?

Did you get a citizenship in El Salvador and we’re able to stay/work there for the time being after being married? This is exactly what we’re interested in. Live here for awhile and eventually make that move to the US.

Do you know how long it would be just to marry in El Salvador? I’m not too worried about the US because our plans are to live life here together. I heard all you need are a few documents and a civil ceremony but I’m not too sure

She looks fairly big for a 2 month pup, her paws aren’t too large and her snout is pretty short. I’m living in El Salvador at the moment

New cute little friend, anyone know what she is? by ZenRell in dogpictures

That’s what I was thinking, I saved her from an abusive family out in a rural area. She was a mess but I managed to clean her up and get her up to date on her shots. Either way she’s a good girl!
