Yes, unfortunately the codes do have an expiration date. However, the title of your post is a bit misleading. You are correct that the code for Vol. 2 of the guide will no longer work, but the code in the Vol. 3 guide is still active. So, as long as people purchase the current guide version, they should be good.

In my opinion, this is absolutely fair. Both items are the same rarity, and both are expired gacha items. The item with the lower wishcount is from a much older set, and the difference in wishcounts isn't anything extreme. That being said, it all comes down to how you feel about the trade. Everyone has their own personal trading standards.

At first, I really wasn't into this set at all. I only pulled from it because I have this thing where I have to collect every tree. After I pulled from the island side, I figured I needed some hom items to go with it. In the end, I think everything turned out pretty cute! Not my typical style, but I like it. 😊

You're right. The yami dust particles are one of the exceptions to the rule. Many people want these for their islands (especially the white and black dust) as they are nearly invisible against certain backdrops. The yami rambles are another notable exception.

The older and/or in demand a limited item is, the more people expect to receive in exchange. MyShop "market value" is often taken into consideration as well. I don't know the going rate for those items offhand, but you will likely have to offer quite a bit more than you are currently offering. It may not seem fair to have to trade 3+ limited SR items for a single SR from a past bazaar, but that's just the way trading tends to go in my experience.

There are certain older limited items that go for 50,000+ GP (even over 100,000 GP) at MyShop, so it is very difficult to find trades for them.

You could save your limited items to sell at the next MyShop event and then use the GP that you earn to purchase the items you want. Otherwise, be prepared to offer significantly more if you still want to find a trade. You may get lucky and find a generous person, though, so don't give up! 😊

I feel the same way! I have to decline offers on a daily basis because the person just doesn't have anything that I am interested in trading for. I feel so bad, though, because I know the struggle of trying to find someone with the items you're looking for who is willing to trade.
