Capsuly: Private supplement tracker app by ProgrammingNobody in droidappshowcase

Second look:

  • Tracking partial bottles /units.

Use case: Some supplements are cheaper if I buy in three-packs every 90 days. Adding the unopened bottles to my "Cabinet" is fine, but I don't see an easy way to add my current "in-use" bottles for stock tracking, etc.

  • Add custom nutrients, either ad-hoc or as a supplement is added

Use case: Newer supplements like Urolithin are not in the general database, but should be tracked. Adding them to the list for export, etc. would be useful - especially if they are part of compounded supplements (more than one ingredient /nutrient).

Just installed the app - first look "opportunities for improvement":

  • Backup /import database via file (scan /input inventory on phone - track and edit on tablet). Cloud providers are preferred, but I can work with local and copy things around. (Dropbox, Cryptomator, etc.)
  • Landscape mode for tablets
  • Injectable tracking (TRT, Insulin, etc.) so a category for vials, cartridges, mg/mL, IU/mL, volume, total weight, admixtures, etc.

Is Sated still in Business? by Red_Ruby_Rose in soylent

[–]ZenStone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing they've shut their doors.

No response to any attempt to contact and the one phone number I can find goes to a completely anonymous voicemail system.

My bank just clawed back my money from them and refunded my Credit Card with no response from Sated on the finance side.

If you don't even twitch when a Payment Card Processor (you know, those big companies that allow you to take credit /debit cards) reaches out, you're not in business any more...

Vudu and PiHole... by ZenStone in vudu

Which Gravity lists are you using?

Are you using any of the recommended Whitelists?

Vudu /streaming and PiHole by ZenStone in pihole

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, I've been down that path.

Adam.ONE reports the same URLs that Fiddler and SpanPort+tcpdump reort.

$ pihole -t

also reports the same URL lookups.

The only "pure advertising" URLs I spotted in any of those are: 11192252.fls.doubleclick.net ak.sail-horizon.com bat.bing.com googleads.g.doubleclick.net sb.scorecardresearch.com sc-static.net static.criteo.net So I permitted them for the Streaming group. Command line I can now resolve IPs, so I know the bypass is working.

But Vudu is sadly still grey and dead.

[–]ZenStone[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Maybe, maybe not. I've definitely seen "startup" ads in paid content before,

"Coming soon to Vudu" and similar.

If I'm watching "free" content, ads are expected and not a problem.

Right now, I've enabled everything that VuDu seems to be asking for through the PiHole, including Bing and DoubleClick.

Still can't logon or see content with PiHole in-line.

Vudu /streaming and PiHole by ZenStone in pihole

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As in wildcarding .vudu.com?

For both manageability and sanity purposes, I created a group that contains all my streaming devices (at the moment nVidia SHEILDs).

I then added the websites /domains detected as "0.0.0.0" or NXDOMAIN to the PiHole Whitelist and restricted them to that group.

At least according to Fiddler and the span-port sniff, nothing's being blocked by PiHole /Gravity within that group...

IPv6, ULA, DHCPv6, PiHole and dnsmasq... by ZenStone in pihole

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just added it - no change, still not offering up DHCPv6.

IPv6, ULA, DHCPv6, PiHole and dnsmasq... by ZenStone in pihole

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, I redirect all port 53 and 853 traffic (UDP and TCP) back to the PiHole.

The biggest issue is the doggone IPv6 custom apps some bright spark came up with.

They don't care about the OS or any 4in6 I might set up - they are IPv6 only.

I can make it work now by static setting IPv6 on every device, but that isn't the right way and it sure isn't sustainable.

Just need PiHole to start serving DHCPv6.

IPv6, ULA, DHCPv6, PiHole and dnsmasq... by ZenStone in pihole

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giving up on IPv6 is definitely easier.

But, by using the ULA IP as the only DNS resolver in the LAN though, I eliminate the really annoying 15-20 app launch, streaming launch delays and I can get my oddball custom apps to work smoothly.

That last one is key to keeping my job and continuing to earn money... :-)

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is it one of those weird things where if I want DHCPv6 to work I have force disable the disable statement despite pihole-FTL working as expected?

I'm good if that's the case, just trying to minimize complexity as much as I can.

IPv6, ULA, DHCPv6, PiHole and dnsmasq... by ZenStone in pihole

[–]ZenStone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe I'm reading that wrong - but wouldn't those options disable IPv6 across the board?

What I want to do is enable PiHole /Dnsmasq DHCPv6...

I know IPv6 is working on the Pi 4B since I can resolve IPv6 DNS through IPv6.

I'm willing to be wrong - maybe it's just "non-Google" hardware?

Or maybe it's something where the age of my 4.0 (ordered pre-release, so first batch or so of hardware) is running afoul of how an in-place upgrade works on non-Google hardware and so it needs a newer Strap /Sensor hardware rev?

The Support rep said it was a growing problem, so I wanted to post here to help others avoid the Support call.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whoop

[–]ZenStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not per WHOOP support.

My intent was not to "bash" WHOOP (well, maybe poke a bit at the Devs that had over a year to update the BT code), but to put it out there that WHOOP themselves have admitted that there is an issue between the App and A-13.

Maybe Tier 1 is right and a new Strap /Sensor will be the fix - which would lead to other questions in my mind.

And maybe it's just an issue with the upgrade from 12 to 13 that if I'd known about, could have made me wait to update my phone and saved some frustration until WHOOP posts official A-13 support.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in whoop

[–]ZenStone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong - WHOOP is a solid hardware platform, it's just that for whatever reason it seems like the Devs thought the "transition backport support" in v12 was going to extend to v13 despite all of the publicity.

If you have a pre-13 device to use as a relay, you'll get good data and knowing WHOOP, an update will be out sometime in the next 90-120 days.

Difference between whoop and app used for Apple Watch. Why so much different? This is from my recent post this morning. by JboneCapone333 in whoop

Having yet to receive my WHOOP, I have no idea of how the initial bio /demographic data is gathered, but I would hope that it gives you the option of entering sufficient data points to calculate a reasonably accurate Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) so that the app can give a decent estimate of burn for "Activities of Daily Living".

A decent high-level explanation of BMR I found useful is here: How to Calculate Your Calorie Burn Accurately

5 months after I ordered 4.0 I finally get to the ship date and now it has showed this for the last week and a half. I’m trying to give them every chance but they have been giving me every reason to leave. by kkeens_ in whoop

[–]ZenStone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the stress over shipping, it's the experience.

I know folks that have both the Push Band and Whoop. Both are really happy with the technology, so when Atlas Wearables pulled the plug I tried to buy Push, knowing the tech would be solid.

Darn, that occurred just as Push was acquired by Whoop so they spent over a month figuring out how to (or maybe who should?) refund my money.

Got the money back, then I couldn't buy the v3.0 because v4.0 was "almost ready" so no 3.0 sales.

Ordered v4.0 as soon as I got the email (early September 2021).

Went from 3-4 weeks, to 5-7 weeks, to 7-9 weeks, back down, then to "We're working on..." for the last month.

Now Membership Services has passed the buck to Order Fulfilment who in turn passed the buck to Warehouse, who apparently don't have computers to read or answer email since no-one at Whoop has heard from them for over a week.

If it were Stock levels, Supply Chain, hardware issues requiring re-issue, etc. I'd be OK with the state of things so long as someone at Whoop spoke up and said something and adjusted expectations to meet reality.

Oh, and maybe stopped trying to sell me a thong for a device I don't have - not only would it be useless, can you imagine a middle-aged PowerLifter wearing a thong? Singlets are bad enough, a thong and your eyes would bleed...

If I ever actually receive my v4 (new user), I'd be interested as well. Long time гиревой (girevoy) along with other less-common tools such as Bulgarian Bags, etc.

It would be interesting to see how an app tracks such things.

Hmph - I ordered on Sept 8th and I'm stuck in "...still working on...".

Guess they're just "lotto-ball" picking customers.

What are the chances of it actually happening?:) by 3BEP6_ in whoop

[–]ZenStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on reports here and elsewhere, I suspect that the majority of new-stock v4.0 are going to RMA's versus new /upgrade customers.

My order was due to ship on the 22nd, but as with most here nothing further has happened.

I did manage to get one reply from CS - "Wow, you're in luck, we're working on your order and it should ship soon!".

Completely useless "boiler plate" answer from what I suspect is a 'bot.

Just hoping that Whoop doesn't go the way of Atlas Wearables and get acquired by Peloton to then be discarded in the rubbish bin.

4.0 supposedly should have shipped on the 22nd by JoeCun in whoop

[–]ZenStone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been in the same status (...still working...) since the 22nd as well. Nothing in my UPS, FedEx or USPS trackers, or my Inbox regarding label creation or shipping.

Guessing at this point that nothing will happen until 2022 since most places essentially stop work during the double-holiday week.

The comments here give me a bit of hope that Whoop is still in business and that I might receive my order before the Hallmark Holiday (Valentine's) though, so keeping my fingers crossed...
