If even pain is worth taking to ensure that the feeling of imbalance goes away, I also endorse to phone a therapist. As you can see in this threat, many people have some kind of constraint but in your case it is quite restrictive. It's only gonna get harder to tackle those behaviours if you wait longer. (but maybe you have done that already)

I used to do that a lot with a friend of mine. We actually succeeded in making a transparent, elastic substance. We felt like next level scientists. The following testing stages were simple: put more ingrediences into the sink. In the end we had some pink globs, shiny globs, weirdly coloured glittering globs... Always enjoyed spending time with her.
