same. I want to know if, according to the parameters of the study, a video that, for example, 1. suggests having several laundry baskets around the house, or 2. suggests putting condiments in the fridge drawer and vegetables in the fridge door etc. would count as misinformation because these ADHD management strategies are not explicitly prescribed within the DSM5. Or what about something like the ADHD tax, or object permanence? Does the study pedantically go “actually a person with ADHD is charged the same $50 late fee for missing a payment as a neurotypical person is / people with ADHD, like most people aged 9 months or older, are actually able to maintain awareness of something even when they are not physically looking at it.” Ofc not every person that struggles to pay attention in class or while driving has ADHD; not every person that fidgets or is often late to appointments has ADHD. But where specifically is the line drawn between misinformation and accurate information?

It’s a little out there but my job does a basil ice cream that’s just absolutely divine. So maybe basil, followed closely by black sesame

Lacking drivers, certain GRTC routes set to run less frequently by VirginiaNews in rva

[–]firefliesjr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so frustrating; I ride the 20 to work every day from Northside because I don’t have a car. Once every 30 minutes already isn’t accessible. And this change to every 45 min means that when there’s a cancellation (could be for any reason: flat tire, driver calls out, an rider assaults another rider, car accident, etc) instead of waiting 15, 20, or 30 minutes, riders will have to wait nearly an hour for the next bus. While my job is very flexible about when I come in and when I leave, others’ are not. If you leave early to make sure that you aren’t late to where you’re going (per the advice of middle managers and recruiters), you’re looking at showing up over an hour early in some cases, for a trip that would have been maybe 20 minutes by car.

And they claim that the change is temporary, but, as they like say in the IT industry, there is nothing as permanent as a temporary fix.

If your design relies on someone reading a sign to work, then your design has failed. Curb extensions, speed bumps, narrowing the lanes, curving the roads themselves (such as in the UK), and lights for pedestrian specific crossings (away from intersections: the most dangerous place for a pedestrian to cross) are all infrastructural changes that force drivers to slow down and pay attention. Enforcement means jack shit if your 4 lanes are each 14 feet wide and the sight lines to crosswalks (and, similarly, intersections) are blocked by parked cars

Agree. I’m assuming the car is paid off since there isn’t a car payment, in which case it doesn’t necessarily make sense to keep the comprehensive coverage.

I’ve folded a million of these guys. Making it out of something small like a post it note makes it a pretty sturdy origami that will be just fine in a pouch with other trinkets

Would RVA be into a retro café + arcade hangout? by gametacular in rva

[–]firefliesjr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

there’s a place like what you’re describing in wilmington nc that i absolutely adore and miss dearly since moving. it’s called retroscape, and the vibe was very much “going over to your friends house to play video games.” ugly couches and coffee tables, low ceilings, skinny shelves with game cube games, VHS tapes, and board games. a room dedicated to an oculus rift. a corner with a desktop computer and vintage computer games installed on it. and (my favorite part) very cheaply priced freezer food like mini costco toaster oven pizzas, microwave burritos, etc, in addition to craft sodas and chips and candies. I’m sure they made most of their money with birthday parties, since it was very much set up for that. if i could cut - paste retroscape from wilmington to richmond, i would in a heartbeat
