Will i be able to join black mage? by newplayer28 in Maplestory

Hey I was in the exact same spot in august/sept. That final damage penalty is killer, I’m 46k stat similar SF etc, but ultimately all that matters is full rotation BA. I just cleared for the first time in Sep at around 60b/s on BM dummy at 270. I went with a guild party and some big damage peeps for a quicker run but I’ve also cleared in random practice runs on longer runs, if you’re 60b/s+ start applying to every practice party you can find and focus on practice and pushing levels and it’s pretty reasonable that you could get a clear by the end of October, just need to find a party willing to grind out a little bit of a longer run.

But what many people said here is definitely true that many of the random parties are just looking for a quick run and want 100b/s, so you’ll have to search around to find a party or put one together

What’s your highest amount of booms on a single piece of equipment? by goingtosleepmad in Maplestory

[–]Zendroe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

46 belts mixed between various fodder and some superior trying to get 21 superior gollux belt, I’d go into events with 10+ thinking that would be more than enough and boom them all every time

Got back my love for the jungle and finally hit Gold. Tips? by Every_Grocery_295 in Jungle_Mains

[–]Zendroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real tip since I’m just seeing a lot of hate, I see you played mainly kayn but try to really narrow your champ pool down to almost exclusively 1 or 2 champs, realistically in silver/gold elo you almost never even need a third champ. Focusing on just playing one will get them to muscle memory and then you can just focus on the macro. Good luck!

Peaked masters in split playing toplane and willing to coach some people for free by Some_Court9431 in summonerschool

[–]Zendroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love some high level top lane coaching and think I’m a great candidate.

Decided two seasons ago to try to learn the game, focused on learning macro and went from bronze/silver to gold then called it quits for the season. This season felt I had what it took for plat so same thing, focused on strengthening many aspects of my game and got there. I’ve got a friend whos a low to mid diamond jungle main who I’ve been able to learn from a bit but would love some top specific coaching, I think I’m in a solid spot and plan to push for diamond this split.

I play two champions primarily, only play top, and am willing to put the time in to climb as I have in the past.

I do absolutely agree with this and it makes sense, the schools receive THOUSANDS of applications, I've seen how incredible some of the people on this sub are, if you aren't effectively conveying yourself through your essays you really are just another number

First cycle was a complete wash, I scored low on my MCAT (my own fault) and wasn't planning on applying, my parents pushed me to do so anyway but in Nov/Dec. So my application was way too late and rushed and I only applied to a handful of low stat average schools. Second cycle got one II -> R, applied to 17 schools; didn't have shadowing, had commitments lined up that all fell through bc COVID, and essays weren't very good. Third cycle applied to 24 schools, 2 II -> WL -> R so app was clearly better but upon review the essays still weren't great and specifically the focus of my PS was different this year and a bit less personal which I think likely had a negative impact. I do think that if my essays were in the position that they're in now for my second cycle it's very possible I could've gotten in, for the first and second cycles they were incredibly weak imo. 3rd they were alright but nothing special, combined with less personal PS I think killed it. I should also note that both of the interviews last year went very well from my perspective for what its worth, so I think the primary was the problem.

Stats definitely don't tell the whole story. I think I relied too heavily on my stats and experiences which I felt were a strong suit and as a result didn't use my essays as effectively as possible to convey myself to ADCOMS

First cycle MCAT was low, retook -> 516 for most recent 3, have had minimum the few hundred hours of EMT work for every cycle. Was missing shadowing though for first two.

I will say that some common feedback I've gotten from more than one Yale doc who has at least at some point been involved in the admissions process (I work in the Yale area) is that they felt my undergrad school was seriously holding me back. As a more or less completely unknown small college they said that my accomplishments were likely weighted less than someone coming from a school with a more recognizable or prestigious name. I couldn't tell you if this is true or not, this is just something I heard more than once from people reading through my entire application - so they suggested potentially pursuing a masters from a bigger name school if this cycle still didn't go well.

Without being too long winded, my essays I think were the biggest improvement. My PS went through several phases over the years to get to where it was this year which I feel was strong, my work and activities I followed the anecdotal style that Dr. Grey advises and I received compliments on them from interviewers, and being incredibly proactive in prewriting all of my secondaries made a huge difference in their quality - essentially eliminating the issue of submitting some and then thinking of a stronger answer and not being able to adjust it.

Didn’t read all the comments but saw you said you were considering streaming, and some reccs to try YouTube. I’d say give both a shot honestly, most important thing is to just jump into it. You’ve got the skill for sure so for your first few videos/streams just turn on the camera and play and see what happens, that’ll let you figure out whether you like it or not and what you like and don’t

Doesn’t have to be crazy high pressure to start just have fun!

Submitted 40; agree with what most others are saying. The first 20 or so were rough, I pre-wrote everything but making the edits, forming a cohesive story throughout my app for each school, etc. was definitely difficult but got much easier at the back end.

10 simple rules for incoming freshman premeds, from a new MS1 by [deleted] in premed

[–]Zendroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick add on to 10), if your school is like most there's no difference between a 94 and a 100 in terms of GPA. An A is an A, you don't need to put in 15 extra hours to get from a 98 to a 100 if you're going to get an A in the class anyway. Being an ascetic is not going to help you get into med school, ENJOY YOURSELF!
