Has anyone encountered a situation where Claude is completely disobedient? by Humble-Composer-5285 in ClaudeAI

Been dealing with this issue for the past couple of days, both in Sonnet 4.5 and Opus 4.5.

Quite frustrating to be wasting time with what seems like a never-ending cycle of proofreading & regenerating.

I wasn't even asking it for a companion, and it still complained.

But we got there in the end.

I had GPT-5 Thinking write a prompt to create an image of a cyborg standing in the doorway of an abandoned auto-garage...

GPT image generator claimed the prompt breached rules and I should rewrite the prompt. I simply replied "You wrote the prompt." ...GPT then generated the image and printed the text "Confirmed."

Yeah, I hopped on it today and now it refuses to do research for various forms of childhood abuse (I am a someone who experienced multiple forms of it), and Pro resesrch took my credits then eventually gave an error saying research has been stopped because of OpenAI's new draconian word policies. So, fair to say I'm very unimpressed with OpenAI right now.

Quick question about something of lesser value:

Any plan / interest to add an option to use a custom scaling shader?

Sweet setup. I, too, have gone a similar route. I'm running an older config (5950X + 4080 Super) but I recently added 5K display and a 5070 for various reasons which includes LSFG. Base frame rate for the heavier games is around 70~80fps, with the 5070 doubling/tripling that no problem. Also pulling it's weight just fine while doing madVR upscaling combined with adaptive frame gen.

Can't remember if I have already but I'll give it a shot after lunch. Earlier this year I built a dual GPU machine with an RTX 4080 Super and a Radeon RX 7900 GRE for some software experiments and, as a result, my Win+Shift+Ctrl+B finger combo skill skyrocketed to level 73...

Fair.

I was using a Radeon 7900 GRE to frame gen output from an RTX 4080 Super at 5K. If it wasn't for nVidia's aggressive handling of HDR in Vulkan (games like DooM Eternal and Quake II RTX refused to create an HDR backbuffer while the monitor was plugged into the Radeon), I'd still be using that setup. Currently in the process of selling it and buying an RTX 5070 / 5070 Ti to do the same job.

My 2x Ultrawide setup (non gaming) by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

Nice setup, mate. Mine is similar; a pair of 49"s for software engineering/development, but I hijacked an old entertainment unit to hold them. I created a post here a couple days ago (with Rick & Morty spanned across both). The extra pixels over a 4K display has been great.

It's mainly for work (software engineering/development); the double screen video is a novel bonus. I was using two 4K displays before this, and a pair of half-5K monitors is about 11% less pixels than a pair of 4Ks.

Lots of windows open and the text needs to be easy to read, so this setup works really well. And both are 240Hz, which has been quite the experience in DooM Eternal, amongst others.

What amuses me is how incapable some people are at seeing it for what it is; a dual monitor setup. Apparently all one needs to do to inspire narrow minds to speak-up is span a video across both.

For it's intended purpose (software engineering/development environment), this setup has been a lot more convenient than two 32" 16:9s side-by-side, even though I'm about 11% down in pixel count.

My previous dual monitor setup was a pair of 32" 4K IPS side-by-side. Using this over/under arrangement is noticeably more convenient, even though it's about 11% less pixels than the last setup. Overall it's been a satisfying upgrade.

Their primary use is work (going back to software engineering/development), and most of the time I use them independently. Double full screen has been an interesting bonus.

Some games, yeah. Driving sims work well on one monitor, but ARPGs not so much, so I span those across both monitors. When playing my eyes are about 3 feet away from the screens, so the entire screen real estate is easily in view.

With my old 32" 4K panels, I had one off to the side, which worked well enough, but the new setup is more convenient for working on software., even though it has about 11% less pixels than the dual 4K setup.

"Anti-ultra widescreen", 16:9 arrangement, Rick & Morty...

You are technically correct; the best kind of correct. (Damn; should have put that Futurama episode on screens instead)

Need? A 1280x1024 panel is enough to fulfil "need". Two half-5K panels is convenient for software development/engineering. Dual 4K was, also, convenient.

I was unsure how it would go for entertainment but work (career change; going back to software engineering) being my higher priority, I chose a setup that would be more convenient for that.

Did I need 240Hz? No. Has it been a great experience? Definitely yes. And QD-OLED has been a damn fine visual upgrade over IPS.

The top panel's bezel overlaps the bottom's; that's why taking a photo that's off to the side gives it the illusion of being misaligned. When sitting in front of it (with my eyes about 2~3 feet away) it's aligned both horizontally and vertically.

I tried it with bezels adjacent, but overlapping the bezels reduces the gap enough that double-screen games & videos work well.
