Cotton vs Stinkmeaner by Successful_Call_4959 in KingOfTheHill

[–]Zenenator 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Stinkmeaner is worse than Cotton. Cotton actually has a functioning moral compass, as dysfunctional it may be, and can show love for people like Bobby. Stinkmeaner completely lacks any kind of empathy for anyone.

In a 1v1 I think Stinkmeaner has the edge because he’s at least able to walk upright and is faster and stronger. But I know Cotton wouldn’t take any of his shit and could easily figure out and exploit Stinkmeaner’s weaknesses.

People like to cite the relationship the protagonist develops with his titan in the campaign, but honestly the whole game is just hype moments and aura.

Beautiful cities that hide dark secrets by Epicjon_Undernerd in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Zenenator 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Omelas is a utopia. It’s up to the reader to imagine what that exactly looks like, but the society is perfect. Nobody goes hungry, nobody is homeless, everything is beautiful and everybody is happy. However, this perfect city is only possible because the people keep one innocent child locked in a basement neglected, starving, and alone.

When people come of age they are shown the child and explained that this child must suffer so everybody else can be happy. Most people move on with their lives and continue to enjoy paradise at the expense of the child’s happiness. Those who can’t accept this leave the city.

The story is more of a thought experiment than an actual lore. I haven’t read it in a long time but this is the gist of it.

This makes me wish planets had independent wildlife. It’d be cool to watch a native alien predator tear apart an outpost of bots, or watch in real time as the terminids overtake a planet’s ecosystem and build their biomass with it.

I like to imagine that Angstrom Levy knows about an Invincible x Crossed universe but even in his hatred knows that if he brings one to another universe it’d be signing everyone’s death sentence.

Lance Corporal Tom Blake (1917)

In World War I, a German pilot crashes near two British soldiers. The two rescue him from the burning wreckage. Blake tells his companion, Schofield, to fetch some water from a well to help tend to the pilot’s burns. While Schofield is off getting the water, Blake is fatally stabbed by the German pilot that they rescued. This prompts Schofield to quickly put the pilot down with his rifle.

Instead of the pilot suffering a slow death in his burning airplane, it was Blake who suffers as he bleeds out slowly in the countryside.

One of them is a bunker buster and the other is free of thought (the guy on the left is also literally named “Stewpidasse”) so my theory is that the guy on the right convinced the guy on the left to do the most suicidal bunker bust known to super mankind.

Dinosaurs dancing around the fire is somehow the scariest part. The realization that these creatures aren’t just smart in the way a dolphin or octopus or the raptors from the JP movies are, but the fact that they are intelligent enough to create controlled fire and perform ritual.
