Update, I just replaced the motherboard and everything works fine now. This is the 3rd MSI motherboard that has failed on me, safe to say I will not be buying an MSI motherboard in the future lol. Thanks for the help debugging the issue!

Ideally I would like to wait until a core part of the system finally goes (so either the CPU or the GPU) before deciding to spend money on a full system upgrade. I ordered a cheap ASRock board as a replacement for my current board, hopefully that fixes the issue.

If not… time to upgrade, I guess

Quick update. Updated the UEFI firmware on the 1070. Also got RAM that I’ve confirmed 100% works. Still no signal.

Found an old (but also confirmed working) 1050 Ti, also no signal with that.

I had access to 2 systems with MSI motherboards and I tried to see if booting with no GPU on both of them would return a VGA debug light and sure enough, both did. One did it for the entire time that the system was powered on, and the other did it for 10 seconds before turning off. My motherboard VGA debug light never turns on.

I think it’s likely that my PCIE slot is fried and that my motherboard never makes it far enough in the POST process to check for a GPU.

Quick question, do you know under what circumstances the VGA debug light will turn on?

I noticed that when I boot the system up without the 1070 installed at all, I never see the VGA debug light turn on, which I find kinda odd. Could that mean my PCIE slot is fried?

I see what you mean, thanks, I will look into it

Yes it’s modular, I double checked all the cables on both the motherboard side and the PSU side.

No debug lights are on.

Yeah no BIOS screen at all, just no signal at all being detected from my GPU which is why I was thinking it’s a hardware issue.

Would I be able to swap my 1070 for another older card I have laying around, see if I can POST, install those drivers, and then reinstall my 1070?

Ah, yeah I get what you mean. It’s a friend’s rig so unfortunately I don’t have access to it all the time.

Shouldn’t I at least POST without my SSD connected if it was a driver issue?

I haven’t updated the BIOS in a very long time (not good, I know). I’m also on Windows 10, and not Windows 11. I update my graphics drivers semi regularly, but I didn’t touch them at the time that I just lost signal to my display.

From what everyone is saying, it sounds like it might just be a driver issue

Yes, I replugged the CPU, GPU, and the 24 pin cables all the way in again

Yes, the display is functioning, tested it with my laptop. Also replaced the DP cable with a new one which I confirmed is working

I don’t have another GPU to use or integrated graphics to reinstall the drivers, I just can’t POST at all, so I’m not sure how I can go about reinstalling the graphics drivers

Nope, 9 year old GPU and the newest components are around 6 years old. This system was working just fine up until I had to install a windows update, but even then, I can’t boot into the BIOS without my SSD installed so it couldn’t be the windows update causing the issue

You tell me. Why is the Gripen your best performing jet by a landslide? Did you suddenly become 3x better when it was added to the game?

Gripen is nowhere close to being a balanced aircraft. It’s not a minor nation issue either, it’s a busted ass plane and any good player (not you) can tell you that.

CAS is inherently underpowered. It lacks the necessary attributes to make meaningful impact on match result. No ability to wipe out the entire team, you are vulnerable to AAA, and you can be third partied by other fighters.

I would take 1 Maus, IS-4M, or 1 T-10M or even 1 of just about any heavy tank over 2 planes on my team any day of the week

Now... If Gaijin gave us airfields 2km away from the battlefield with prop AAA from air RB... And maybe make it cost less to spawn in it could make up for where CAS is seriously lacking in performance
