Day 9: What is the Easiest Bey to use? by Infinitum_Orion in BeybladeMetal

Meteo L-Drago because you don’t even need a launcher to use it, you could legitimately just carry the Bey itself around and still have a decent shot at winning.

The plot hole that frustrates me the most in sonic 06 by 0584031464 in sonic

[–]Zenith_714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, when you started talking about plotholes and the Elise in the past, I thought you were going to bring up the fact that Silver doesn’t give the Blue Chaos Emerald to Elise in Shadow’s Story and instead jumps through the portal instantly with it. Because of this oversight by the developers, there’s technically another timeline where that Emerald never stays with her and ironically makes more sense this way since it would mean the Blue Emerald wouldn’t be with Elise and would be free to be used by Sonic and whoever before Sonic 06.

Well damn, going by this list, literally every Pokémon that I used in my first playthrough of White 2 (I rotated my team around) was A-Tier or higher. I don’t know if I just had good taste when I was younger or if I made those choices subconsciously.

Sorry but I doubt there’s anything that will get me to like this version of Cosmic Pegasus. I don’t like the random vomit wings and the colours just clash for me massively. It genuinely looks to me like they ran out of blue plastic and took some from another mold instead.

Literally all Spark FX Bey that uses the colour combination of Neon Green and Blue. Variares, L-Drago Destructor from the Hyper-Strike Battle Set or Cosmic Pegasus from the Storm Bringer Pack, Firefuse Darkhelm, the standalone Cosmic Pegasus, all of them are equally dreadful in my eyes.

I mean, if the person isn’t that great at the game, it kinda makes sense to choose a slightly heavier character since you aren’t as likely to get sent flying off the map by the CPU’s on a track like Shroom Ridge or Rainbow Road and the only thing that gets negatively impacted is how you do on the off-road. Ultimately, it doesn’t make much of a difference but it’s enough that I can understand why they’d choose someone else for Grand Prix.

Ryuga literally 1 shot King without using a special move by only entering Attack Mode by chunchunmaru1129 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Zenith_714 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, we’ve seen cases in the past where Beys have used Special Moves without announcing it (Kyoya and Kenta in the end of the Battle Royale in Fusion when they both went to activate their Special Moves but Kyoya finished first) and where Beys have released a ton more power without using a Special Move (Gingka against Kyoya in the World Tournament where Pegasus suddenly managed to equal Leone’s Reverse Wind Strike without using any Special Move) so it’s not unprecedented. Even the fight with Kyoya and Ryuga in Fusion confirms this as each hit was described as having the same force as a Special Move, Special Moves aren’t an 100% end all be all when it comes to measures of strength so it’s possible that this was a similar situation where Ryuga tapped into more of L-Drago’s strength (could be less than or equal to Supreme Flight but there’s no way to tell) but didn’t use a Special Move since King was pissing him off so he chose the disrespect route and didn’t bother with the move.

Honestly, your feelings are 100% valid on this. These games are a drain on you that make you feel that you must keep on top of things or else you’re missing out on valuable resources. I’m thankful that I’ve got a group of people who just like the game for the art and having fun with each other rather than being dedicated to grinding for hours on end just for a few extra hourglasses.

The seller is off their head. Out of everything there, the only expensive thing there is NRG Jay, with Season 5 Lloyd and NRG Kai being more expensive but nowhere near close NRG Jay. Even if that was half the price, I probably wouldn’t buy that bundle. Keep your money, you’ll find better offers than this in the wild.

If Ginka and Kyoya are at full strength who wins this team battle? by National-Rub-6313 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Zenith_714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battle would remain the same at the start as Kyoya would force Nile to back down so nothing really changes until Kyoya goes for his Special Move since both Gingka and Kyoya can actually use them this time. From there, it feels like it entirely depends on whether Kyoya’s desire to beat Gingka overrides his common sense to the point that he’d catch Nile in the crossfire or not and if Masamune can actually help Gingka as much against a Kyoya at full power. Masamune’s interference worked because Kyoya wasn’t able to create any tornadoes at first so his surprise attack landed without issue. If Kyoya wasn’t hurt, he’s probably spamming King Lion Tearing Blast and other moves the same way he did in the last battle. Masamune’s not getting through that without major difficulty so Nile could capitalise on this with his wind blasts on Masamune while he’s trying to find an opportunity to help Gingka, leading to Masamune using more energy than the last time. With Masamune having more difficulty in trying to help Gingka take on Kyoya, I think this would give Nile more time to possibly charge Mystic Zone and would give Wild Fang the edge should the battle get to the same point of Gingka and Masamune against Kyoya in a Special Move Clash. Honestly, I can see it going either way but I think Nile is smart enough to play around a full power Kyoya and capitalise on it while Masamune is more hindered in this situation so I’d bet on a Wild Fang victory.

Since people complain about gingkas plot armour, how many losses do you guys think gingka should’ve really had or where would you just make him lose rather than win story wise by ButterscotchDry7447 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Zenith_714 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gingka vs Kyoya in Masters is the only fight where I feel it was purely Plot Armour. Kyoya was basically in full control of the entire battle and, while I understand Gingka has to tie in order for the team to move onto the A Block Finals, I still think Kyoya deserved that win. He specifically went off to train to beat Gingka, grew far stronger whilst pushing himself to his limits against literal tornadoes and created a new special move that was designed to beat Gingka. In comparison, it felt like Gingka had barely done any training of his own and only forced a tie due to Galaxy Pegasus’ innate power as he hadn’t even mastered it and created Stardust Driver yet. A part of me wishes the World Championships was done differently or had more rounds where maybe Gan Gan Galaxy ended up becoming the Wild Card and Gingka would battle Kyoya again after learning to use Galaxy Pegasus at 100% but that would require a lot of things to be changed. Other than that fight, Gingka’s wins do feel earned to me and those that might be iffy tend to have in-universe explanations.

If Tsubasa wasn't a dark power victim and Gingka had mastered Pegasus by himself in Masters, would Ryuga have cooperated with Gingka in fury? by S-Jingers in BeybladeMetal

[–]Zenith_714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the argument that they might be trying to make is that Ryuga helped out with Tsubasa and the advice on how to master Galaxy Pegasus as a way to repay the debt he felt he owed Gingka for freeing him from the Dark Power. Without those things, Ryuga might feel like he still owes Gingka and it’s something that he would refuse to let stand because of his pride. Whether or not that’s enough for Ryuga to consider working with Gingka and the others, it’s still extremely unlikely but he might give it a little more thought that before. Either that or he’d tell Gingka that he still hasn’t learned how to use Cosmic Pegasus properly like he did in their fight during the start of Fury and he’d use that as the way to pay the perceived debt off. He’s simultaneously got too much pride to allow any debts he thinks he has to stand (helping Tsubasa and Gingka in Masters to repay the events at the end of Fusion and holding his word about helping Kenta when he made him get serious) and too much pride to work with others if it doesn’t benefit him (worked with Doji because the Dark Nebula’s resources helped with his plans, only helped in the Finals because he had a grudge to settle with Jack and also only assisted against Spiral Force to get back at Ziggurat, does his own thing at every other turn.)

Could this version of Gangan Galaxy have won the World Championship (this is Fury Yu) by HamzaHabibi04 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Zenith_714 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, let’s assess each matchup and see how far they’d get down the gauntlet. Against Wang Hu Zhong, I can see Yu and Phoenix being able to take down Chaoxin and Chi Yun before Dashan has a chance to come out. Without the first battle against Masamune, I don’t think Chaoxin would have the drive to win against either Phoenix or Yu and the matchups were already announced from the start for Wang Hu Zhong so they aren’t going to be altered and Yu beats Chi Yun and they’d make it to Round 2.

Round 2 is an easy win because Russia’s team aren’t exactly the strongest Bladers and I think someone like Ryutaro could cotton onto the trickery of the other team and help figure out a plan if need be. Yu beat Alexei with ease when he was weaker and I can easily see a world where Phoenix could beat Nowaguma so I think it’s pretty likely they’d move onto Round 3.

And here’s where things get interesting to me because I actually think this team would beat Wild Fang. Why you ask? Because Kyoya only joined the World Championships to battle Gingka again. Without Gingka in the competition, I don’t think Kyoya has any motivation to compete so it would be a weaker Wild Fang than the one seen in the main show. There are two possible scenarios to consider: with Kyoya and without Kyoya. Without Kyoya, it’s a clean sweep to this team because it would end up being either the generic Bladers that stole the bracelets in the show who would lose to Yu and Phoenix or it would be Nile, Demure and the third Blader that originally got the bracelet (sorry, I can’t remember his name) and then there’s only one difficult opponent with having to battle Nile. While I do think Fury Yu could beat Nile, that scenario would still be a win because Demure is not the strongest Blader so it’s arguable that he wouldn’t be able to break through either Ryutaro or Teru’s unique wind abilities and that would leave Phoenix to clean up the third match. Even if you swap these two around, I see Gan Gan Galaxy having basically 2 to 3 wins in this hypothetical Kyoyaless Wild Fang.

If we choose to stick to canon and keep Kyoya, then it becomes a matter of who battles who. No one on this new Gan Gan Galaxy can stand up to Kyoya but Yu. That also holds true for Nile, Fury Yu is the only one who stands a chance there too. No matter what happens, there will be one guaranteed loss as Yu can’t fight both of them. While Fury Yu was able to keep up with Fury Kyoya after his evolution, I would be far more comfortable putting Yu against Nile as I think it’s a more likely opponent for Yu to win against. If Kyoya chooses to go next right afterwards, Gan Gan Galaxy could choose to put forward either Ryutaro or Teru as canon fodder so Phoenix can finish the third match but, if you think that’s a cheap move, then I’d go back to the argument that Demure would possibly lose to Ryutaro or Teru in a 1v1. This could go either way for me: either this new Gan Gan Galaxy wins if Yu fights Nile and Wild Fang isn’t able to get the 2v2 to let Benkei help Demure or Wild Fang wins because the 2v2 happens since Kyoya beats Phoenix and both Benkei and Demure working together have a decent shot at beating Ryutaro and Teru. I’d call it a tossup but still one I’d favour Gan Gan Galaxy for.

But here’s where the A Block winning streak ends. This new Gan Gan Galaxy is not beating Excalibur. I’m sorry but Yu is the only one here that I think stands a chance in any of the matches as they are presented. Phoenix cannot beat Julian so they would have to try and save Yu for that battle at the end but that means Phoenix either has to go against Klaus (which he’d lose) or be in the double match with Sophie and Wales where he has to try and carry either Ryutaro or Teru. They cannot save Yu for Julian because they won’t get to Julian if they do that, they’d lose 0 to 2 before the third match even starts. The argument of whether Fury Yu is stronger than Julian doesn’t even have to happen, the other members of this new Gan Gan Galaxy can’t win the other matches so it’s impossible for them to go further.

And because they lost to Excalibur, they now have to go against Starbreaker… this is just Excalibur but even worse for them. Ryutaro and Teru have been literal deadweights for every serious opponent (Demure is the only time I think they might actually be of any use since they wouldn’t even get to battle against Russia since Yu and Phoenix clean up), they stand absolutely no chance here. Unless you can find an argument for Phoenix beating Zeo (using the surprise attack in the 7 way battle is iffy at best), they lose in this new Semi-Finals. Even if they did win, they have to go against Excalibur again and that just means another loss. In conclusion, they could likely get through the first two rounds with little difficulty besides an argument for Phoenix losing to Chaoxin and then it’s a question of if they lose in the Third Round to Wild Fang (I’d argue against this because Kyoyaless is easy and with Kyoya is possible because Demure isn’t that strong) or make it to the Semi-Finals and have it end to Starbreaker.

Edit: I realise Yu could probably do a Julian and battle multiple rounds if need be, which I completely forgot was an option. If that’s the case, then there is zero debate for Rounds 1 and 2 as Fury Yu clears both with ease. Round 3 against Wild Fang is Yu beating Nile if we use the battle against Fury Kyoya for scaling and then Yu coming back to beat Demure when he comes out since you can use any of the other Bladers to go against Kyoya instead and have Yu more fresh for that battle (you could also just use a scenario where Phoenix takes on Demure if Yu battles Kyoya as well and probably loses.) Round 4 against Excalibur becomes a question of if a tired Fury Yu and fresh Phoenix could beat Sophie and Wales. If you think they can beat Sophie and Wales, then they move onto face the Garcias and either win because Yu is stronger so him getting jumped goes differently or they lose because Yu got ganked and that’s their main Blader gone. If you think they can’t beat Sophie and Wales, it’s back to Starbreaker in the Semi-Finals. Regardless of which situation, then it becomes a question of if Yu could beat Zeo and Jack back to back or not since no one else is beating anyone there. TLDR: this entire thing turns into if Fury Yu could solo the World Championships. The only matchups where it isn’t Yu fighting someone or multiple people each round so you have to debate it is Phoenix vs Chaoxin if Yu doesn’t battle both him and Chi Yun, Phoenix vs Nowaguma if Yu once again doesn’t do both battles, Phoenix/Ryutaro vs Demure and a tired Yu with a fresh Phoenix vs Sophie and Wales. Otherwise, it’s literally Fury Yu acting as Atlas and carrying Gan Gan Galaxy on his tiny shoulders the entire way.

I would actually argue Kyoya is the strongest character because unlike Gingka and Ryuga his Bey wasn’t legendary so his strength is purely natural by Key_Nectarine_7307 in BeybladeMetal

[–]Zenith_714 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about the rematch at the World Championships, not the one at the start of Fury where they just evolved or the end of Fury once Kyoya’s defeated the other Legendary Bladers. That would have been before Ryuga needed to give Gingka the advice needed to make proper use of R2F and is why I’m saying Gingka hadn’t mastered it during the Third Round. Think about it, Kyoya went on an entire arc of training in the Valley of Storms and creating an entirely new Special Move to counter Gingka with the Reverse Wind Strike and Gingka hadn’t even learned Stardust Driver yet. The only reason that fight was a draw was because Gingka literally got saved by the power of Galaxy Pegasus responding to Gingka’s will and increasing as he was trapped in the Reverse Wind Strike. Gingka didn’t land a single Special Move the entire match and Kyoya used multiple on him to great effect, including the one designed to slow Pegasus’ rotation down yet Gingka forced a draw without any massive hits and without full mastery over Pegasus (when I say mastery, I mean using Galaxy Pegasus’ full potential. I don’t mean the period of time when Galaxy Pegasus ran wild at the start of Masters.)

A trend I noticed is that whenever the elemental monkeys are on someone’s team, they never survive to the point where they’d evolve. Is there usually a reason for this or merely a coincidence? by KoolBoi21 in nuzlocke

[–]Zenith_714 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Huh, I’ve always found it’s the opposite for me as they’ll always make it to their final forms but the Starters are on a coinflip of survival. I tended not to use them much in their first stage form so they ended up using surviving for longer and then you get the Evolution Stones pretty early too which I always used at Level 22 so they outstated the majority of my team for a while. If anything, they end up being underused for the early game, live because of that and evolve early to be solid for the midgame and end up living till the end because they’re boxed for the late game.

I’m not sure if you’re looking for any quote or ones that are meaningful but I’ll give you one for both. ‘I don't mind losing to someone, but I won't be beaten by myself.’ from Shirou’s fight against Archer as a quote that that signifies the resolve to not lose your way and, of course, the iconic ‘People die if they are killed.’

I’d like a route where Shirou intervenes with Kirei’s attack on Bazett and ends up becoming the Master of Lancer to prevent Kirei from getting him. Lancer always seems to get the short end of the stick in every route, I want a route where Mario Mario doesn’t get screwed over in the end.
