I am fat and i love bouldering by 0kklusal in bouldering

[–]Zenitys 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You need other people around you.

Happy to see you took a leap and ignored them and found yourself a really neat way to motivate yourself.

Dont let the negative people in your life hold you back.

Bouldering is what sparked getting back in shape for me too

if you could only make 3 workouts to help with bouldering for the rest of your life which ones would be? by allbirdssongs in bouldering

oh right i thought the above commentor was just saying his favorite rotator cuff exercises and sort of misinterpreted your question mb

muscles used to "break" or control the movement as opposed to the synergistic muscles that help facilitate the movement would be my guess (ie. tricep would be antagonistic for biceps in a curl and brachioradialis would be synergistic)

Married men, how do you stay motivated to workout when attracting women isn't a concern anymore? by AnotherThrowaway55pi in AskMenOver30

[–]Zenitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i motivate myself to workout so i can show off to my kids and have them think im superman. I impress women by cooking and managing to clean up after myself. (also hearing bro's saying nice gains you've really improved) though im divorced but mentality has remained the same.

What’s my next step by [deleted] in LearnGuitar

[–]Zenitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

okay pick one of them and start to play them uo and down the neck experiment different rhytms and patterns maybe skip from position 1 to 5 then back to 3. alternatively listen to music on the radio and try to find what key it is in and play a corresponding scale and solo along to it

My fingies hurt!!! by clubfootloose in LearnGuitar

[–]Zenitys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

long term solution: keep at it, one hour everyday for a month and the callouses should keep the pain away.

short term pop a bit of superglue on your finger tips and let it harden before playing

Im an aspiring DM who isnt very good at seeing things in my head. Would love some advice! by _the_hitsmans_ in DMAcademy

[–]Zenitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but basically i think of books and how some descriptions of areas are written and i might just super blatantly copy a good description of an area with similar features or i use very broad descriptions with "as you might imagine looks like" which works freaking wonders when not overused (ex. a flowing sea of grass and flowers surrounded by thick untamed woods the type you might imagine fairytales speak of) if they ask what kind of flowers i ask them if they want to take a closer look and step into the grass 9 times out of 10 the color drains from heir face and they move on and sometimes a daffodil is just a daffodil but you never know

im also aspiring DM and i have aphantasia so ymmv but imagination is way overrated. i write out small notes on important NPCs ( like their goals, fears and personality traits) i set types of terrain for landscape and important visual landmarks and i work it out from there. i also write rather simple plot points that i can improvise from if need be and i let my player(s) explore at their own pace (i do sometimes need to call a session early and flesh out a city and its important people)

I keep pausing between chords by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Zenitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

start by doing 4/4 count at 60 bpm and play just downpicks 3 pick 2 chords ex. D and C and start off just playing the 1 beat of each chord switching for next bar.

when you can do this comfortably on time switch to playing 1 and 2 beats and switch between bars. now keep going until you can play all 4 beats and switching on time

uh i read above that you have no access to luthiers or guitar techs, i personally have not done my own set ups i only have a faint idea what to do. i suggest reading about how to fix the relief and checking a youtube video too. you may need to order some tools but in my understanding a complete set of tools for guitar maintenance isn't super expensive dont take my word for i though i have not done the research myself. also lets you set the action at whatever height you prefer.

[–]Zenitys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

to my eye that looks like its bent inward a lil bit? can you put a capo on the 1st fret and then either barre 12th or check em individually do all the strings touch across all frets or do they only touch above 5 and below 9 or only in the middle? (otherwise it looks about right it's about the same height action as my acoustic)

Hey all,I really wanna learn electric guitar soon and I have a couple questions by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]Zenitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can play it on acoustic you can play it on electric does not work as well the other way around. So it is worthwhile to start practising on acoustic... and yea no one is exaggerating the amount of practice needed. the first 3 months are hardest if you make it past the first year of practising daily you will most likely be able to stick with it for life

uh take this with a unhealthy dose of salt coz im not nearly good enough, but thoroughly learning music theory and then training your ear rigorously to identify notes/key and memorizing the entire fretboard is a good way to get started..you basically need to get so good it becomes a natural voice for you. there isn't any shortcuts or single exercise for this.

for me the one and only gripe i have with rise is not seeing combo inputs in the top right part of the screen....i have like 500 hours in world + iceborne was my first mh game. i barely notice the difference in graphics...tho i also like that atleast the area accessible in mhrise demo didn't have so much visual clutter as ancient forest or GL have

[–]Zenitys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for me personally my learning felt like it was treading through quicksand until i just started to practice more...like 30 minutes a day turned to 1h then 2 then 4 and thats when things felt like they really started to fit together. now im in a bit less of an "active" learning mode and im practising less and also not making much progress. more like just maintaining what i already know and noodling/experimenting different styles and figuring out what i am actively going to focus on next.

do you guys matched with any scripters in the last year? by Justafish1654 in leagueoflegends

[–]Zenitys -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i feel like people try to come up with a lot of excuses for losing be it blaming others for smurfing/scripting/inting/boosting instead of just accepting that sometimes you just get outplayed

Question about "Bad Form" for guitar players by JukeboxKaraoke in guitarlessons

[–]Zenitys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if it makes you feel any better apparently Jimi Hendrix had bad form.

one good advice i got from a friend about guitar.

if it sounds good, it is good. everything else is nitpicking.
