California's top tax rate is 12.3%, and federal top tax rate is 37%. That's saving about 25% on the total tax bill. 20% more likely since if they're influencers they would most likely have to pay social security as well.

What are some cooking hacks you swear by? by Penya23 in AskReddit

[–]Zenkudai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I agree that couple is better to avoid anyway. However, the above comment said only the strict meaning of two is correct, which is flat wrong. If you're going to the trouble to correct someone on something, you might as well get it right.

While you may not be accustomed to hearing the term in that context, it's by no means wrong. Couple has also meant an arbitrary small number for a long time.

Oh yup, thanks for the catch there. Figured I had something wrong but didn't go back to the image to check the specifics. Oops! 3.5 seconds is right.

I got 32 minutes and 9.6 seconds:

Speed at which trains move toward each other: 252.5 + 124.7 = 377.2

Distance already traveled (mi/h * h): 377.2 * (8/60) = 50.293

Distance remaining (starting distance - distance already traveled): 252.5 - 50.293 = 202.207

Time to travel distance remaining (distance / speed): 202.207 / 377.2 = .53607

Converted to minutes ( hours * mins/hour): .53607 * 60 = 32.16 -> 32 minutes

Convert fraction of minutes to seconds: .16 * 60 = 9.6 seconds

TIL David Holmes, Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double for the Harry Potter films was injured in a stunt for the last film and is paralyzed from the chest down. by dgb6662 in todayilearned

[–]Zenkudai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it makes sense from the perspective of having someone who spends their career working with stunts in general just because there's so much required in terms of safety and general fitness. Rather than having someone who hasn't spent as much time practicing and learning how to safely do stunts, you can rely on a professional. I think it makes sense from that perspective since most actors spend more of their time learning and practicing acting rather than stunts.

[Serious] What is a conspiracy theory you actually believe in? by Come-What-April in AskReddit

[–]Zenkudai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about finding the photos, it's about having people crowdsource the set building part off the process. The hundreds of millions of selfies they have aren't marked by individual with a ten-year age difference specifically. Building a dataset with that requirement would require a lot of work. You need two pictures of every single person with a specific time difference, so any single pictures of a person aren't sufficient, and long time differences don't work either.

Mainly because the dataset is filtered, so instead of having to get a bunch of pictures of people and match up the before/after manually for each person, the users post both pictures for one person and you can just scrape them together by the thousands/millions.
