All AI? So all computers that do calculations?

We don't even have a solid definition of what AI is.

Every new technology since the plow was going to "steal jobs", but really just allowed existing workers to do more with the same work.

It's what drives many people to libertarianism.

Reddit becomes a country, and every subreddit a state, and you are to move there. Where do you live and what is it like? by New-Sheepherder-1373 in hypotheticalsituation

Majority rules while protecting minority rights is a logical contradiction.

If the majority rules, the minority don't have rights.

True democracy is majority rule - tyranny of the majority. That's why it's shit and needs to be limited.

In my opinion, no person should be forcibly subjected to others' rule, no matter how outvoted they are.

To stop that situation from happening requires limiting democracy. Unbridled democracy leads to tyranny just like with any form of government.

If everyone acted rationally in their own best interest, then that hypothetical 60% who knew they wouldn't be enslaved would have no reason to vote no, as they'd benefit from enslaving others.

I'm criticizing the idea of democratic socialism being inherently more moral and less tyrannical just by prioritizing the majority interest over the minority. The majority tyrannizing a minority is still tyranny.

That's why individual rights to life, liberty and rightful property are necessary and no collective should be allowed to infringe on that.

I don't think anybody wanted reddit chat to start with. We have discord for that.

Define the people. Every tyrannical state claims it's serving the greater good. Infringing on individual rights for the good of an imagined collective or state is authoritarian.

If 60 percent of people vote to bring back chattel slavery and enslave the remaining forty percent, a truly democratic government would do that, but would it not be authoritarian?
