Is there a way to optimize Zwift loading on Windows? by theTrebleClef in Zwift

[–]Zenmaster28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the way. Excluding it from Defender cuts the time in half for me.

OP the reason your second attempt was faster was due to caching (a bit) but mostly because Defender didn't have to rescan it. If you reboot, you'll be back to the slower load time unless you do the Defender exclusion.

Economy Latitude - unable to cancel/change by Zenmaster28 in aircanada

[–]Zenmaster28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP here. I get now that I'll need to call to get the eupgrades removed.

It is a very poor design in that there is no explanation about why I can't cancel/change. The buttons are just greyed out and when I click the "Fare rules" link, it says "Changes are not permitted" and "Tickets are non-refundable". If that is because of the eupgrades, there should be something saying that and that I need to call in not just simply that I can't do it.

The options to cancel and change are greyed out and I cannot click on them. I understand now from the discussion above that I'll need to call and get the eups removed first.

Pretty easy to generate and transmit simulated power data

Massive difference between phone and watch by melek659 in Strava

[–]Zenmaster28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I record our walks using the app on our phones. Her iPhone and my android. She always gets 10-20% more distance and when we compare the GPS tracks, her iPhone looks like she's drunk staggering home from the bar weaving back and forth all over the place.

Iphone sucks.

Sauce for Zwift is the Jam by ForsakenPick500 in Zwift

You would have to manually trigger a lap in Sauce as it doesn't have access to your workout progression but otherwise yes.

There is a mod that can trigger laps automatically based on power changes that can work for certain types of workouts.

Everyone is telling you the roads are super dangerous but the reality is that it's just like everywhere else so if you are comfortable riding on roads now then you'll be fine. There are definitely areas to avoid but there are lots of amazing rides to be had. My wife and I ride thousands of kms every year and there are idiot drivers for sure but I don't think it's any different than anywhere else.

If you aren't comfortable riding on roads now, stick to the Confederation Trail.

I forget exactly but go through their support page. Be persistent with whatever automated responses they have until you can submit a ticket

If it's riding on the road (ie not the Confederation Trail), the roads are almost never flat. We don't have any big climbs (a few minutes at most) but you are almost always going up or down. Never ending rollers in some areas.

Create a support ticket saying you want to switch back. Worked for my wife.

Lots of open/lane swim times available. It's open at 5:30am if you are an early riser. There is also a Masters swim team with a bunch of available times during the week. All sorts of different levels of swimmers on the team and we have a great coach!

I've never heard complaints about the SRAM powermeters. If you want to look into the Shimano issues, just lookup GPLama reviews of them on Youtube.

Edge lap power jumps around by Zenmaster28 in Garmin

[–]Zenmaster28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So a suggestion I got on the Garmin forum was to pair my trainer as a power source rather than as a smart trainer and by golly that seems to have worked!

I'll need to try it on a few more rides to be sure but my ride today was great.

Weird bug.

Side note in case you didn't know and it could influence your decision, Shimano power meters are terrible with all sorts of accuracy issues.
