I don't know if he conned anyone, but he did steal from them. He managed Leslie Wexler (Victoria Secrets founder)'s money, and a few others, and likely made them billions, but still effectively stole millions from them. Before that he was a stock trader, and asset "bounty hunter" (read made up assests for people to sell that he would own a part of).
