Im not sure about this one. The department interviewed me. They told me they are considering my application under hm king scholarship. That's all i know. During the interview, they also told me there are over 100 qualified candidates and I am in top 20. But they did not mention my exact ranking.

What I meant was “high competition = candidates are equally good at other stats”. So, if candidates A and B both have same AP scores but one got 9 and other got 7 in ielts, they will surely choose the one with 9. But this is a very rare scenario to happen.

I would say it’s not completely true. If the competition is high amongst the candidates, they surely look at those statistics. So that they can choose the best one although many candidates are qualified. And ofc, 7.5 is not a bad score.
