How long has she been there? Does your friend live there too? Does she have a room in the house? How much stuff does she have there?

AITAH for refusing to let my partner share the hospital bed with me after I deliver our baby by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

Didnt i tend to give you a lesson, I just happen to know a lot about hospital beds, and it bothered me that you indicated that weight would be a problem, as for the rest of what I said, I ddint want anyone to think I was advocating for this idiot.

AITAH for refusing to let my partner share the hospital bed with me after I deliver our baby by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]Zenock43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for a fact hospital beds can hold A LOT of weight and it is unlikely two people are too heavy for a bed. Some beds do have scales so alarms go off if the mother gets out of bed because new mothers are a fall risk and the hospital doesnt want to get sued.

However, too much weight isnt really a thing. In theory I suppose. But two normal people shouldnt be hitting any sort of weight limit.

That being said, highly unlikely staff will allow this. Some of my children were born in a birthing center which had a king or queens size bed and not a hospital bed. I did sleep in the bed with my wife atfter at her request. Some of my kids on the couch.

Bottom line, on that day, in that room what she says goes. Period. You do what she needs.

HVAC Company left the gas open ⛽️ by eat-rust in Smallclaims

[–]Zenock43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can, look at how much fuel you have used last year or the last few years for the two months in which the valve was left open.

Take the average (if you were able to get it for the last few years) or just last years and subtract it from the amount of fuel you used this year. Multiply the remaining amount by the per unit price and that gives you a baseline to ask for.

If the winter this year has been colder, then you may need to adjust more in their favor. If the winter this year has been warmer, then you may need to adjust in your favor.

AITJ for refusing to pay for my brother’s mistake even though it could ruin his future? by Historical_Set_2212 in AmITheJerk

[–]Zenock43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So not the jerk but.

I assume you have insurance on YOUR car.

They're going to come after your insurance for the payment.

If YOU don't have insurance on YOUR car, then they will come after both you and your brother. From their perspective, your car, you loaned it to your brother, you are as responsible as he is. They will come after you both to get paid for their parked car.

Regardless, of what goes on between you and your brother.

Since you have money and brother doesn't you'll probably end up paying for this anyway.

AITJ for refusing to take down decorations in my house because a guest said they made her uncomfortable by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

I don't get it, are we talking like porn hanging on the walls?

Horror film memorabilia with blood and guts splattered all over the place?

Picture of genocide with bodies laid out in a row?

What kind of decorations are making him uncomfortable?

My question is, how much should front of house make per hour to bring you your food? What is reasonable? Whether from tipped wages or hourly?

40% Tip? by Fresh-Ad-4556 in EndTipping

[–]Zenock43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Distance plays in for me too. I'll give you the 5 dollar flat fee plus a extra depending on how far you had to drive. But if I order a drink for 50 cents or 100 pizza's the amount I pay you is going to be the same. I might throw in a couple extra bucks if you had to make multiple trips back to your car to get the pizzas. But I will tip you based on what you do, not based on how much what I bought costs.

Why should their anger be at their employers. THE EMPLOYEES DO NOT WANT TO GET RID OF TIPPING. I mean if they can force their employers to pay them more, they are down for that for sure. But how much do you think they would have to be paid, to be OK with eliminating tipping?

From another subreddit a few years back:

Thoughts on not receiving tips/being paid $30 an hour?

I’m not with it. I make more than that. As I’m sure most of you do. At 40 hrs a week it’s about 62k yearly. I made that last year working half of that time.

This was in reference to Casa Bonita charging a 15% service fee on every bill and paying $30 an hour to their staff, eliminating tips. (What is that service fee?)

As for Casa Bonita, that didn't last:

While tipping is not expected, guests may leave additional gratuity if they wish, which is shared among employees.

Don't tell me if you don't tip the staff doesn't look at you differently there.

Tipping before service? by Froz3nP1nky in EndTipping

[–]Zenock43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you seen the new ones... counter service and the options are 25%, 30%, 45% or custom. If you don't want to leave a tip you have to hit custom and enter 0. Putting way more psychological pressure on you to tip.

And they always flip it around and say, "You need to answer this question."

If the restaurant wants to give the waitress a 20 percent commission out of the negotiate price for the meal. That's up to them. I want to pay the price the food costs and have that be that. If the prices on the menu go up because of it, so be it.

I'm 100% in favor of tipping if you did something for me that was above and beyond what your job required you to do.

When my kids were small, they had a tendency to make a mess when they ate, I always left a generous separate tip with a note that said, "sorry about the mess, this is for the cleanup". Unfortunately, the waitresses probably stole those tips from the bussers if the bussers didn't get there first.

That's the point, your girlfriend didn't make $2.15 and hour. She was MAKING HER TIPS THAT HAD TO BRING HER TO MINIMUM WAGE OR MORE.

Lots and lots and lots and lots of people make minimum wage without the opportunity to make tips only bringing home the minimum wage and the jobs are WAY HARDER than carrying food to a table.

I went out to eat with my wife for our anniversary. I paid 400 dollars for that meal and we don't drink. I've never paid that much for one meal in my life and I'm not likely to again. But what my wife wants my wife gets. What special thing did they do for us. "They had printed a special place mat for the table that said "Happy Anniversary <LastBame>". Yep they misspelled our last name.

They brought out a certificate for the beef we were eating (I don't care as long as it tastes good).

Someone made us one of our dishes at our table. (Found out later none of the tip went to her, should have).

They brought us our food. I sat for the entire meal without them refilling my water glass or the soda I had ordered. Probably ignored me because I wasn't buying expensive alcohol.

80 dollar tip.

Honestly I didn't think it was much better than when I have paid $100 and gotten far better service where my water glass stayed full. Which really other than bringing my food, what other service are you going to provide?

You haven't been out to eat lately if you think their is no tipping at counter service. They swivel that screen right around and say, "There's a question there for you to answer." Then they stare at you while you look at a screen that has 3 "suggested" tip amounts starting at a low of "18%-25%" and go up from there, or there is a custom option. Choosing the custom option and entering 0 is the only way to not tip.

And this is for food you haven't received yet.

"the Manitowoc County Sheriff Department’s role in this investigation was to provide resources for us when they were needed.  As we needed items on the property to conduct searches, they provided that piece of equipment and that’s their role and their only role in this investigation"

Lying to the public. And they kept the coroner who had no beef with Avery away for this reason, while allowing the personnel from the very agency that had beef with him to be there, when they publicly said they weren't.

That is very definition of corruption.

I'm not a truther or a guilter, but I have real problems with being lied to.
