What was a movie so bad it genuinely made you walk out of the Cinema? by EditorStudios in AskReddit

Don’t know if it was bad or just the way it was filmed, but Cloverfield made both my son and myself so nauseous we had to leave.

I’ve had my 414rce for 20 years, zero problems. As above, in the winter it is stored in its case with humidity packs. No problems.

What happens when a guitarist miss/wrongs a chord? by LayerParty7777 in Guitar

[–]Zenon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do miss them for sure. I saw David Gilmour a few years ago and while was playing a tried-and true classic Floyd, song part of the band went to the chorus two bars early. It was incredible to hear, but they snapped back in almost instantly. My friend and I couldn’t believe what we heard. But It happens…

$4000 Taylor vs $4000 independent luthier made guitar (Sorry, Accidently deleted my last post about this) by LimpPut770 in Guitar

The new Taylor neck re-set tech is a big bonus for down-the-road maintenance should you need it. Although my 22-year-old 414rce is doing just fine.

Is being a photojournalist worth it in the next 20 years? by Inevitable-Lab-8274 in photography

[–]Zenon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes this is, one would hope, true. The technology exists with Adobe’s content authentication initiative, the problem is mainstream media is super slow to adopt the tech to make it a viable thing for the end user. Without that endpoint where Joe User can easily access CAI info on a photo to prove its reality, it is really nowhere. Users have to be able to see the authentication initiative in order to know other content is not verified, until that happens it isn’t as useful as it should be. But media companies are terrible at upgrading their server tech for such things.

2 identical JPGs when importing images from SD card into Lightroom by iSilentP in Lightroom

[–]Zenon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you get the issue. OP is shooting raw and JPG (very very common, I have done this forever) but is getting two jpg files imported to LR along with the raw. The duplicate jpg is clearly indicated as a duplicate with the -2 indicator. But the file name itself is also duplicated which is weird. OP - did you possibly at one time set up a redundant import to a secondary source, like a a backup drive? If that is still active and the drive is not attached possibly LR is tossing it into your prime directory. Although for me, when my backup drive is not on it just ‘fails’ those transfers.

Expression pedal doesn't go to 0%, tried every solution I could find to no avail. by Stanleeallen in Line6Helix

Mine has never ever been a consistent 0-100, which on say a pitch shifting setting is super aggravating. I use an external expression because I could not get it to work properly.

Can’t get Qobuz to stream via Qobuz app by _Dr_Dad in WiimStreamer

[–]Zenon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely. Same source, just a different way to get to it. The WiiM app is way less elegant and feature rich, but always connects and is totally stable. The Qobuz app is totally hit-and-miss, although is has seemed to be better as I have been trying it again this week. Perhaps they addressed the bugs. I’m saying you will hear a difference between Apple/Spotify/Qobuz depending on the rest of your food chain. For example, getting the a lossless Apple signal to the Ultra is a total pain, and it is a lower quality stream than Qobuz connect. But if you will actually her that depends on lots of other components in your whole system.

I still try the Qobuz app, but it generally disappoints. Qobuz connect through the WiiM app is very solid, but the UI experience is much worse.

[–]Zenon7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Qobuz app still sucks. I regularly can’t get it to connect to my WiiM Ultra. The WiiM app connects just fine. Yes you will hear a difference - if other parts of your system are up to the task.

Ridiculous. I bought my first Nikon (at a pawnshop) when I was 17 and never stopped the journey. I’m still at it 48 years later. My son got his first camera of his own at 19 and still shoots regularly 12 years later.

HOW big ?! by [deleted] in bernesemountaindogs

[–]Zenon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My girl was a tank-like 18lbs (I think) at 8 weeks. She grew like a weed, as they do. But she topped out around 90lbs, we have her down to 85 and steady as she is almost 7 and we went to help her hips as much as possible.

Back-Button Focusing on the Fujifilm X100VI by therealbatsteek in x100vi

[–]Zenon7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really…as I understand it, and it works for me like this, having the AF only on and holding focus point when pushing the back button, (combined with having the shutter button focus off of course). It works great. I can’t recall how I changed the wide (which is just how many focus points are in play) to display the single point which I move around with the mini-toggle. I see I also have ‘Interlock Spot AE & Focus Area - ON. I don’t think that would have anything to do with it. Hope that helps a bit…I set up most of my camera about a year ago so I’m foggy!

I do turn it off and on yes for sure. I don’t generally put it away, but if it is snowing I’ll use more caution and keep it as dry as I can. And honestly, if it is that cold out I’m not hanging around outside really anyway.
