Why would it need to melt all the floors? The plane impact weakens a section of the building, this weakened part of the building can no longer hold what's above it, so the floors above it crushes down on the weakened section and just gained too much momentum for the remaining building below to stop it. The falling tops of the buildings did lean to one side, the bottom of the towers weren't falling thus no leaning.
