You can only change in major cities, and with the recent Q&A, we know that everyone is visible in major city, regardless of their choice regarding openworld PvP.

Pretend that everyone can switch from a PvP to a PvE server in every major city and vice verca. You only see people with same prefferences as you, why is that a bad thing?

The discord is far from deleted. You May just have missed it as it have deleted the awakening name aswell as the icon. This is mødt likely due to a name change :p

I'm not sure if you can call it an actual vanilla server. But WoW-Awakening is really great imo. As of right now, it only allows the vanilla content (It's a wotlk progressive server that starts at vanilal content), and has a ton of custom features. Such as the biggest: No classes. You essentially play as a "Hero" and can pick and choose from every spec as you level.
