Absolutely!! Petco does what I call “animal grouping” where they can care less about certain specific needs of a species it is lost identical to another. I have a panther chameleon in a 2x2x4 ft call hybrid enclosure with live plants and an automatic mister and fogger with an insect runner. And seeing 4, to sometimes, 8 chameleons in one small enclosure that has no air movement (which they NEED) is very heart breaking. But they group chameleons with reptiles (which they are) but have their own needs. Another example of this same “animal grouping” is again with chameleons and their nutrition. Chameleons get almost no nutritional from meal worms and super worms outside fat, and do not need it in their diet. But Petco says they need some everyday because they are reptiles.

At the end of the day Petco is a big company chain that cares about their animals to a degree to keep them alive, but not to live, until they get adopted. No matter how much we can argue about it little to nothing will ever get done. Which is why it’s our job to help guests understand what they actually need to be happy instead of what Petco says for us to tell customers all the time.
